I got it in four; should have been three really but I chose the wrong second letter. I'm glad I'm not the only one still doing Wordle. That and Connections are firmly part of my morning routine.

How can we be expected to suck up inevitable cuts to public services from government when they won't even look properly into the potential misuse of public money at Teesworks? One "investigation" has already found poor value for money. I suspect local Labour MPs have been let down by Ministers.

When will the government pick up on this? If there's shoddy governance at Teesworks it needs dealing with as well as publicising. So much for the NAO being parachuted in. Labour has a tough job as the new government but I don't understand why they don't grasp this nettle now.

A fabulous woodpecker on the peanut feeder this morning.

So sorry to hear this. It's the first time I've heard of this happening; as you suggest, it's one of those unspoken things which understandably isn't shared. I just thought @doctoroxford.bsky.social 's post also shed some light on how it's dealt with. We *must* fund palliative care better.

Jeremy Clarkson is turning up to the protest tomorrow.

A reminder that he bought his 312-acre farm in 2012 for £4.25million in HIS OWN WORDS so that he:

*would not be required pay death duties on the land*

I was Sounds and NME. Then when rags like Q started giving away free CDs I'd buy any old music publication if it had a decent freebie.

Happy Monday everyone. I saw this little beauty on my dog walk this morning. Mum and Dad will have been close by I suspect (I have seen them all together recently). #LoveTeesside

Listening to some pre-work tunes this morning including Big Mouth Strikes Again. One of my favourite Smiths songs. I first heard it performed live on The Whistle Test with the great introduction by Andy Kershaw. *That* almost-flamenco guitar intro is peak Johnny Marr. #thesmiths #80sIndie

I don't post much but I'm a proud Teessider, Boro fan and like to think that I am fair and equitable about politics. Love 80s indie music.

Seven years ago tonight I took my old mate Russ to Hydes Bar in Norton to sample the beer he brewed (Roundhill Brewery). It was the first time his beer was on in a pub. It was fabulous. Such a shame what happened to his brewing premises. His Billy Town Brown was just magnificent.

Sh**thole or not (it's not) the disgraceful thing about this is that child poverty in Stockton North has grown by 47% since 2015 (according to New Economics Foundation). And then there are the knock on effects related to that (health, crime, education etc). The people of Teesside know who to blame.
