Defence minister Luke Pollard boasting: "We've got a large amount of military assets in the region that have been involved in shooting down Iranian drones"

But remember folks, we're not involved.

Interestingly, it looks like almost none of the presentations had anything to do with any of the priorities that research has consistently identified as being shared by autistic people, parents and relevant professionals.

I used to think this, but then MPs started getting paid a *lot* more, so now I just think they should be banned from second jobs and investments.

Is there any evidence their expenses aren't sufficient already, not counting the fact that they accept secondments from companies and foreign countries?

Are we going to be asked to believe that MPs are highly attuned to the concerns of their poorest constituents, but still not able to cope being in the top 10/15% of household incomes?

Certainly not good that this technology has come along right at the point it has become absolutely undeniable that the Reagan Revolution was disastrous pseudo-science, resulting in decades of malicious neglect and nation-crippling levels of political corruption.

if would be nice if companies supplied a diff when updating their terms (not that you can decline new terms in any case)

My approach is very similar: when I have to end my writing time, I spend 5 minutes brain dumping (in red) wherever I am on the page so that I don’t forget my in the moment train-of-thought. It really helps me get going again when I return the page!

If Starmer had adhered to his leadership-campaign & General Election pledges, he'd possibly be the most popular 🇬🇧 PM since polls began.

Instead he's the most unpopular. (Admittedly, Liz Truss would probably have that distinction if only she'd outlasted that lettuce. [Discuss. 🤔])

This negative, divisive content, is the most popular content for "miserable, fascist, white, men."

You want more miserable angry white men? Increase the fashy content! They love that stuff!🤡

But it drives away both "women who aren't white," and "white women who aren't racist or transphobic."

🙂🙃

This is the fundamentally false premise that people believe, despite all evidence to the contrary.🤷🏿‍♂️

The truth is:

1) Negative, divisive content, is not the most engaging content. It's not close.

2) Algorithms reward negative, divisive content, because billionaires buy platforms and make it so.

I have a lot of entries to add! I just learned of a Palestinian horror novel coming out in September, among other works.

A reminder that my approach in curating this is just that everything speculative by a Palestinian creator goes on the list.

Israel killed over 100 people — and wounded thousands — in Lebanon today. TODAY. April 8 2026. Just yesterday, Israeli news outlets reported that Israel and Hizb'allah were laying down their weapons.

And this has been so normalized that there are still people pretending Iran broke the deal.

A reminder, again, that the establishment have to maintain that the Corbyn era was a non stop cascade of Hitlerian racism because otherwise their response - a decade of public pants shitting, Boris Johnson, diamond hard Brexit and Keir Starmer - seems like an insane overreaction.

I had to look up MENA. What a bizarre bit of case law! That's certainly not how the vast majority of US politicians think of them.

Too many people hear something like this and think 'Even brown people? Even Muslims? Be realistic!'

So much of US foreign policy (supported by the UK, Israel and others) only makes sense through the lens of brown people not really being fully human, or not having lives that are worth anything much.

More than 100 killed as Israel strikes central Beirut after saying Iran truce doesn't apply there Israeli strikes have hit central Beirut without warning, causing panic after the announcement of the ceasefire in the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran.

After Iran agreed to open the Strait, they've already closed it again.

Why? Israel won’t stop bombing Lebanon.

More than 1,000 Lebanese have been killed since Israel began launching missiles in March. The attacks on civilian infrastructure—schools, hospitals, neighborhoods—are unconscionable.
