I’ve been in such an art rut lately, and I knew that I just needed to force myself to start something to get the momentum back. Well guess what, friends! I was right, and IT’S BACK!😆 Maybe I’ll finally go finish my book dummy now

I also have a thing for drawing frogs! Love it!
Springy geese for #kidlitartpostcard Day! I actually drew these guys years ago but decided to give them a little spruce. I’m finishing up my first picture book dummy and can’t wait to share it with agents soon! Portfolio link in bio.

To think. To notice. To see the hills gently shift beneath the mist, almost like an enormous breath. In… and then out
I’ve heard tell of a mythical bear, as old and as sleepy as the mountains themselves. Only the folks on the edges of things still whisper about it, the folks who still quiet themselves long enough to sit a while.
I thought I would share my Folktale Week illustrations over here too. See comments for the story 👇🏻
It’s #kidlitartpostcard day! I love telling sweet and silly stories with my illustrations.❤️ This was my entry for #scbwi Narrative Art Award. Congrats to winner Shubo Yu!
If you see this, QRP your art with the moon in it 🌙
I agree!! And thank you for sharing my post 🥰

I’m Annie Furr, and I’m an illustrator who also sometimes writes. School may have started and fall may be around the corner, but it’s still hot. So I’m hanging onto summer and hitching a ride on my alligator.
The fact that these books are all being labeled “banned” is not right. We should be able to see the different categories. They are available in many forms in many places, just not required reading for a certain grace. There is an appropriate time to introduce topics, and that is a parents’ decision!
Thank you for saying this! Many times when a book is on the “banned list” it’s only because it was removed from required reading list for a certain grade. If a book is in fact BANNED, it’s wrong. If a book is just no longer required, that’s called parental involvement.
Well thank you! I’m an unapologetic fan of yours, so same to you!
I’m just starting out so I expect to be rejected. 😆 I think I will be so surprised when I get some interest instead some form of a polite NO.
Haha this is right where I am. I’m a mom, so right now, I’m focusing on fun time with my kiddos to refill their tank after I was so busy finishing a project! But I’m definitely still overthinking my next move in my head 😆
BIG congrats! It was my first time attending too!
I looove playing with materials, so once I get sketching done, I feel free to just GO with the paint, pencils, crayons, whatever floats my boat!! ✏️ 🎨
Awww love Frog and Toad and Owl too!! You did a great job capturing them and still making them your own😍
I think the sketches look so great! It makes me want to try something like this!
Hi! I’m Annie Furr, and I’m on the hunt for representation! I love natural colors, lots of texture, and bold lines. Bring on your silly, sweet, and colorful picture books, board books, and covers! You can check out my portfolio at anniefurr.com.
Honest question from this typically late adopter… How do I thank a person for reposting my post here on Bluesky? 🤔 I’m truly appreciate to everyone who has!!
I’m new to Bluesky, so I will share last month’s #kidlitartpostcard!
Hi I’m Annie! I’m a children’s illustrator on the hunt for representation. Bring on the color, the silly, and the texture! (And in case you ever wondered how the planets got their rings, astronaut crayons, of course! 🖍️)
