Yeah makes sense. But guess weβll see
A data visualisation of a piece of house music. We used python to analyse the tune and perform analysis of each stem and the piece as a whole.

In Sync. A visual music test animation.
We made a couple of Houdini tools to help with this, an audio to MIDI tool and a Houdini to After Effects exporter to bring over data and cameras etc.

Some Procreate concept sketches for visual music
Here's some painty Procreate pics I did. Trying to organise my Procreate files!
Human vocals β data β particle simulation.
This visualization extracts vocal features and uses them to drive a particle system in Houdini.

Another test experimenting with visualising audio. This oneβs a thrush. I analysed the recording in Spear, then rebuilt the spectral data inside Houdini with Python.

Iβve been experimenting with visualising different kinds of audio, human voices and animal calls.

I will, it will just take some time
Thanks, good luck!
It's for music visualisation. So making pretty animations.
Using Sonic Visualiser is a start. But chatting with an LLM and start working out what you're trying to achieve. Whether it's music theory or waveforms or semantics or whatever.
Extracting data from music, I'm aiming to get semantic 'meaningful' data if possible. Dipping into music theory and language analysis as well as granular ffm/waveform stuff. I'm getting lots of data, need some time to see how well it can be utilised for visualisation.

A music theory animation I did a long time ago just discovered on my hard drive
This is great!
It really is!
Very cool to see the animation I created with @marcusdusautoy.bsky.social being played at Royal Institution. bsky.app/profile/rigb...

No school like the old school!
Edwards had a lot of creative control because he'd made Godzilla and they agreed he could make the Creator in his own way as part of the deal. As anyone who works with clients knows (particularly in the creative industry), the more top down changes and madness flows in, the more expensive it gets.
Man dino is feelin that
Fantastic!
