The "average Rustacean causes 100 segfaults a year" factoid is actually just a statistical error. The average Rustacean causes zero segfaults per year. Segfault Nia, who lives in cave & causes over 700 million segfaults each day, is an outlier and should not have been counted.

A restaurant filled with many Rustaceans.

Next to three tracks in big cinema rooms, we will also have an amazing hallway track. We rented out the entire 1000-person capacity restaurant attached to the cinema!

This space is available all day during the conference, has many six-person booths with power sockets, and even a nice outdoor space.

Utrecht (in the Netherlands) is one of the nicest and most walkable (and cyclable!) cities on earth. ~80% of all movements in the city happen by foot or by bike! ๐Ÿšฒ

And RustWeek takes place in the very center of it! Come visit RustWeek and Utrecht!

At RustWeek, your badge is printed on the spot. We have half a dozen badge printers, so no lines waiting for someone to find your badge!

Typo'd your name? New employer? Decided to change your name during the conference? No problem! Just update your profile and we'll instantly print you a new badge!

Fun fact: Just for RustWeek, the internet infrastructure in the venue gets a big temporary upgrade with extra wifi access points that get installed in the restaurant and the cinema rooms, because y'all bring more than 1 device on average and use a lot more bandwidth than the average cinema visitor.

I feel like removing references from Rust would "solve" a lot of problems. ;)

Catch me on the main stage at RustWeek for the first time! Iโ€™ll be speaking on programming languages as a community of belonging, how our perception of what being a programmer has changed over time, and what that means for our communities in the future

๐Ÿฆ€ I've improved the implementation behind all the string formatting macros in Rust: println, panic, format, write, log::info, etc. (Everything using format_args!().) They will compile a bit faster, use a bit less memory while compiling, result in smaller binaries, and produce more efficient code! ๐ŸŽ‰

We might seriously consider that actually! Maybe some sort of "help me move to the Netherlands" desk at the conference or something. Multiple people have already moved to Utrecht and Delft because of RustWeek/RustNL! :D
