So many bizarre buried memories from 20-22 lmao

Thinking about the time in 2021 when I was on a plane and the flight attendant asked a passenger to put their mask on and they started screaming at the FA about how the FA "wasn't really from New York" and how she'd show her "how they do it in the Bronx" if the FA didn't back off. Surreal times.

🎯 Nailed it!

“[LLM ‘discoveries’ have] a certain incuriosity I have found endemic among [SV entrepreneurs].… Perhaps they did not realize their ‘discovery’ was well-known elsewhere, or perhaps their self-conception is that they are the smartest, and if they don’t know something, no one knows it.”

We don't know which Cabinet secretary will be forced to resign next, but we know it'll be either Brooke Rollins or Linda McMahon because they're the last two women left.

I can't figure out why you don't just challenge it anyway at that point in the game. Literally what do you have to lose

*going back in time 15 years to warn myself about the future*

“The president is an open pedophile. Over a million Americans died from a plague. Pasta sauce is recording people’s conversations!”

“Haha ok sure where did you hear that, InfoWars?”

“INFOWARS IS GOOD NOW!”

Sorry to be overly sincere for a second, but here's why we decided to persevere through all of the bullshit and take over InfoWars.

There's just gotta be a line somewhere.

Thank you @pablo.show for letting me talk so openly about this.

With the help of the Sandy Hook families, The Onion has reached a long-awaited deal to take over InfoWars.

We've enlisted the help of @timheidecker.bsky.social, who will be InfoWars' Creative Director.

Please stand by for more.

Ronald Acuña walks on six pitches.

Ronald Acuña walks on six pitches.

Tough to walk on six pitches out of the strikezone without swinging, but Acuña is special.

The largest technology companies are contributing to a surge in data centre investment, as
their capital expenditure exceeded USD 400 billion in 2025 – and is expected to jump by
another 75% in 2026. Capital expenditure of just five technology companies is now larger
than global investment in oil and natural gas production. Many jurisdictions are seeing
project pipelines accelerate dramatically, although not all projects will come to fruition.
Those that are moving forward are doing so at pace: the IEA’s unique satellite-based tracking
shows that “artificial intelligence (AI) factories” – cutting-edge data centres specifically
designed for AI – have more than tripled in capacity in the past 18 months. Meanwhile, the
capabilities of AI are improving quickly, increasing the likelihood that it will reshape economic
growth, innovation and competitiveness and disrupt established industries and jobs.

- Total data centre investment is now greater than total global oil and gas investment

- Nvidia's "AI factories" marketing phrase has infected.......everything

It's been so interesting to watch this unfold. Barnes & Noble and other big book chains shut indies down in the the 1990s (and on) and then Amazon came along and ate up all the book market share. Now people tired of big corporations are creating demand for more indies

Because we get asked a lot.
The Technological Republic, in brief.
1. Silicon Valley owes a moral debt to the country that made its rise possible. The engineering elite of Silicon Valley has an affirmative obligation to participate in the defense ot the nation.
2. We must rebel against the tyranny of the apps. Is the iPhone our greatest creative if not crowning achievement as a civilization? The object has changed our lives, but it may also now be limiting and constraining our sense of the possible.
3. Free email is not enough. The decadence of a culture or civilization, and indeed its ruling class, will be forgiven only if that culture is capable of delivering economic growth and security for the public.

🧵 Why is Palantir advising on foreign policy?

This bit is interesting:

“National service should be a universal duty. We should, as a society, seriously consider moving away from an all-volunteer force and only fight the next war if everyone shares in the risk and the cost”
