You know what makes me satisfied about the route I made for this long speedrun? When your friend in the community helps adapt said route for a different version of the game and then she gets world record for that version on her first attempt.

My finances were a little spooky for a bit but I got hired before I needed to ask for help. Happy I had saved up enough for an emergency fund while in grad school.

I lived in Iowa for five years and March through July is the tornado season there. This doesn't mean it can't happen in the other months either, as there just needs to be the right conditions for storms to make tornadoes

I already deal with the fact that folks assure me their requests are meant to be “private/personal” gifts or keepsakes (they basically never are, and I always find them online later - every time).

But it’s really frustrating to see friends/parents of folks holding their phones up unsubtly to vid.

By the way, this has happened EXPONENTIALLY more ever since the second half of Digital Circus, so I want to inform folks:

Even at a con it’s common courtesy to ask my consent before you start recording me at my table.

Especially because it’s a *felony* to do so w/o it in a two-party consent state.

This place has a pileon/harassment problem. My theory why, is that Twitter was accidentally designed as a pileon engine, and then Bluesky copied Twitter's design in the simplest form possible without adopting the anti-pileon innovations of Mastodon, Cohost, *or Twitter*.

As someone who (obviously given my pfp) has very strong memories of the 2017 solar eclipse, I earnestly think it's the latter. I can only think that it's the astronauts feeling awestruck from seeing the Earth with their own eyes, as it's such a strong feeling that gets you to think about everything.
