I’d love you to watch the excitement of seeing Orcas - you can listen to the Naturalists on board (Jade & Steph) as they talk to us about the Orcas, how important it is we keep our distance and respect their home - the Salish sea!
Education, conservation, respect 🥰❤️🇨🇦

Bald eagle in Delta BC 🇨🇦 20 April 2026 - I love where I live - eagles everyday! 😄🦅🖤
A red ant climbing around a pink and pale pink milkvetch flower. From Wikipedia: Astragalus andersonii is a species of milkvetch known by the common name Anderson's milkvetch. It is native to eastern California and western Nevada, where it is found in the plateaus at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, including the Modoc Plateau. The inflorescence is a projecting or upright array of 12 to 26 pealike flowers. Each flower is white, often purple-tinted or purple-veined, and between 1 and 2 centimeters long.
I’m envious of insects. What gorgeous habitats they explore.

Two Black-crowned Night Herons, one just landing on the left as another leaves rapidly to the right, with food in its bill that it does not want to give up. In monochrome, SOOC.

Two slate-coloured juncos flit through the snow-filled air as a third one watches from a shepherd's hook.
Two slate-coloured juncos have an altercation over the black metal shepherd's hook. The one perched on it flaps his wings at the other who is hovering in front of him in the fluffy falling snow.
Three slate-coloured juncos execute their version of a Cirque du Soleil act in the falling fluffy snow. Two are floating in mid-air while the third watches from the shepherd's hook.

Junco aerial ballet in the snow. These guys have been a delight this last week. #birds
Sage Grouse looks out from cheat grass
Sage Grouse just off gravel road near camp, Harney County, Oregon. We surveyed several leks the next day but never got this close to displaying birds so as not to disturb. #birding
Rare (to us out west anyways) Eastern Phoebe at Whitaker Ponds yesterday, Multnomah County, Oregon #birding This guy is way off course!
Baby javelina crosses the camera, her white collar evident in this black and white photo, making it evident why they are called "Collared Peccaries." She's smiling, too.
Itty bitty mountain #javelina on #cameratrap. You can't tell, but this little red has red fur!
Giant boulders line a rocky/sandy beach as the tide is on its way out. A small tree covered peninsula can be seen in silhouette left in frame. The wind is blowing causing whitecaps to form on the blue sun soaked water. Wispy clouds dance across the deep blue mid day sky
The sheer joy of cancelled plans🎉

When I think of birds and flowers raptors generally don't come to mind but here's a Striated Caracara perched in a thicket of gorse. From the Falkland Islands where the raptor is native but the gorse introduced. 🪶
A photo of a blackbird with red and yellow on its wings, perched on a cattail, with its beak wide open.
This red-winged blackbird looks like he saying something.
What do you think he's saying?
