Photo showing a microscopic view of a sediment. There are tiny grains of quartz that are translucent, volcanic material grains that are black and grey, and some white to yellowish microfossils. In the middle of the view is a slightly larger grain that is actually a foraminifera fossil. It has three roundish bulges.
I am preparing for my Saturday lab work on these Early Pleistocene sediments for the coral boarding school class this weekend, and I managed to find a nice foraminifera! I still have no idea how to pick them out, the tweezers I have are way too big and static is a problem.
