Doing a Google search I got that it's a traditional way to say 8 in 'Kun'yomi'

Publishers are doing a lot of good work adapting popular BL/GL & queer manga into different languages within a couple years of the original releases, and there are even sites that collaborate with creators where you can directly support them by paying to read per chapter🧵

Yes, when I was in middle school and high school in the 2000s I read scanlations and watched obscure anime & OVAs that wouldn't be made available here legally until 10 or 15 years later. But now you can request manga to be licensed directly from publishers!🥰🧵
