... but any remaining sense of self-control.
"Everyone around him can see it. Yet, whether from ambition, cowardice, or weary acceptance, they keep looking for ways to rationalize his behavior. The tragedy is no longer Trump’s. It is now America’s."

Where has this version of Jeffries been for the past 16 months? Bring it on.

Interesting look at how @aoc.bsky.social tuned a personal attack on her into a well reasoned argument without using anger.
I went to high school a long time ago.
💯
She and her husband Boris were amazing teachers. Apparently a book was written about Boris!

There's something about this white-supremacy-coded-as-reason that drives me up a fucking wall.
We're here because we DID NOT stand up for leftist principles of universal education. NOT because we didn't teach enough Western Civilization, or condemn anti-genocide protestors.
You jackass.
To be fair, this is just making official a transition he’d already made, no?
Spaniel Day Lewis is a wonderful name, and I’m just so sorry. Thoughts with you.
It’s the teaching to the test that’s the problem.
Taught by this amazing woman, who lived to age 99. An unbelievable person.

Multiple books, many Shakespeare plays, poetry… (I took AP English Lit). We read started with Beowulf, read Chaucer, before moving to the more modern stuff. It was hard. It was also amazing. Actually took seriously the idea that shd be college level.
Trump did this 👇🏽

Wut? OMG.
"our leadership has remained conspicuously silent when faculty members — disproportionately women and faculty of color — have had their scholarship and qualifications impugned by members of Congress and by right-wing outlets like Fox News..."

Grateful to my wonderful colleague, @kirstenweld.bsky.social for this incisive analysis.

The ultra wealthy pay less than ever under Trump's tax policies. You pay more through hidden mechanisms like tariffs and eliminated health credits. This system extracts from workers to fund billionaire slush funds. #TrumpRiggedYourTaxReturn
There's no call for how invested I got in this.

I can’t press like on this because the story is so horrible. But yes.
Even if this were a good idea, which it really, really isn’t, the university rightly doesn’t collect this data. How would it comply? Make assumptions about last names? Penn and all others asked to do same must refuse.

I don’t think we talk nearly enough about the fact that corporations like Amazon, don’t pay a single cent to maintain the roads they use, the transportation system they use, the courts they use, they pay nothing for the infrastructure that is absolutely critical to their business.
WE Pay for
“Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.”
Just sobbed hardest I have since my mom died in 2020.
She missed these trials by a few months.
One of most ruthless cancers. Hard to fathom that maybe she'd still be here.
I feel such a hole inside.
In case you're wondering if we should fund mRNA research instead of another stupid war ... yes.
Excited to attend the ribbon-cutting for the next segment of California’s solar canal initiative later this month in Hickman. Imagine generating solar power over 4,000 miles or so canals across the state. A lot of Sierra and Colorado River water to save via avoided evaporation.
Pete Hegseth stood at a Pentagon podium this weekend and threatened to bomb Iran’s civilian power grid.
Under international law, intentionally targeting civilian energy infrastructure is a war crime.
