Lua is all you need!

Ah that must be what I’m remembering. Why the switch. I remember you were really far along
Gotcha. Coulda sworn this was in another language originally
been working on a 2D Unity-like game engine from scratch:
C++ with SDL3 renderer, Luau scripting, scene hierarchy and behavior system, and interactive editor in an integrated webview.
Still some rough edges but the pieces are all there!
Super exciting! Wait I thought this was rust before?
A better look
I heard y'all like threaded replies...
Hey everyone!
I am open for work. Looking for contract, part-time, full-time, anything! I have been making games for close to 15 years now and am happy doing 2D art in most styles, pixel art, UI, and managing.

a little preview of something...
Making a little electronics simulator… game? I dunno, but look at my 555 timer go!
This is just texture work for the linework effect. Just feels a bit more pure 2d because I project the texture from the cameras perspective
did some texture and shader work
Hell yeah escape velocity! That’s so my jam
Which is better? Ortho vs perspective
That’s exactly what’s happening. Sometimes the geometry is as simple as a cube, like the backside view of this prop, but I do rough out a bit more geometry usually where it’s needed. Doesn’t take long to do and it adds a lot to the effect
Thanks!
Yup that’s basically right. I have crude (not exactly a cube) geometry I projection map to
Thanks! The cans also have crude 3d geometry. No parallax shader magic
Well the engine is unity, but this is a prototype for a tycoon style game
Thanks Bruce! Still playing with the idea, but feeling more and more like it’ll take shape
Thanks!
They weren’t 3D until now. I projection mapped them to crude geometry to get this 2.5D effect
quick engine test
Added some drink fridges. Gotta draw all the angles too!
What an embarrassing day to be an American
This was a lot harder to draft out than expected
A couple of checkouts
