The biggest clean energy installs in 2024 - mostly in red states, mostly solar. Costs of renewable energy continue to plummet below that of fossil fuels, and of course renewable energy is far less polluting than fossil fuel pollution.

During its first term, Trump launched an assault on science and scientific integrity—and signs suggest more of the same the second time around. To push back, we must recognize and challenge the language shaping public discourse in this new administration. Here are 3 key concepts to defend science.
On target: “Declaring an energy emergency while blocking wind and solar — our fastest-growing and most cost-effective energy sources — is like sounding a fire alarm and then saying you can’t call the fire department,”

"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."
Not by Gandhi but still very appropriate in these times.
Here we go again… “an allegation that the hacking was ordered by a lobbying firm working for ExxonMobil”

No blackouts either. “renewables fulfilled 100% of the state’s electricity demand for up to 10 hours on 98 of 116 days, a record for California”

When science is sidelined, people get hurt. Demand that Trump's nominees respect science and scientific integrity.
You can say, “gravity isn’t real,” but if you step off the cliff, you’re still going down.
And if you convince other people it’s not real, you are responsible for what happens if they make decisions based on the information you withheld.
"When scientists tell us that limiting the global temperature from rising more than 2°C (3.6°F) will help protect the diversity of life on earth, we listen and we act. That is why TNC will continue to honor the Paris Agreement goals and help the U.S. do its part." @nature.org
Hi
Fossil fuels are killing folks with climate change and air pollution, and now “microplastics [made from fossil fuels] can cause harm to people's reproductive, digestive, and respiratory health” apple.news/AnqN4akZLQ2u...
