Issue importance amplifies the effect of gaze on voting decisions There are many factors that can influence a voter’s decision in the ballot booth but not all of them are policy related. One non-policy factor that ma…

I'm back on BlueSky after an unintentionally long hiatus. Looking forward to reconnecting! Anyway, a project that I'm super proud of was published today, demonstrating that gaze causally affects vote choice, and is amplified by issue importance. Check it out if you like attention stuff! #commsky

Race and racialized attitudes are central to many policies. We find that racial dynamics negatively influence perceptions of policies that disproportionally impact communities of color.

Excited to share new work out of #teamfluency led by Rachel Wade. This experiment shows that making medical forms about family health history easier makes people want to engage more with their family health history.

short forms = better. Way to go Rae!!

Hoping that this is where everyone went! I think it is fitting that my first post (??) shares a new article examining perceptions of women in science.
Key takeaway: Women were perceived as more competent, but this was mediated by perceptions of likability. Excited to keep exploring this!

During my campus commute, I’ve found a new love for audiobooks. In particular, I have not been able to stop talking about and thinking about Doppelganger by Naomi Klein. It’s social media, politics, polarization, historical analysis, Freudian psychology, media studies, and self-identity. 5⭐️
