There’s no rationale for this ignorance any more. There are thousands of credible studies. There are thousands of online advocates trying to hand-feed people basic information on transmission and risk. There are thousands of news articles. If you still don’t get it, you just don’t want to.
So it goes without saying, but let's say it anyway: the concentration of attacks on trans people isn't because trans people are the only people fascists hate (although they absolutely do hate them). It's because they're the people they think non-fascists are least likely to defend.
I remember a lockdown in high school that shook me up. I can only imagine how they are feeling. My teacher acted like it was the real thing. Found out in the next class it was a planned drill.

COVID is MORE “common” than the “common cold”
It circulates MORE than the flu, even during “flu season”
There’s no “COVID season” as COVID is present all year round
These are facts that ppl find hard to accept as it would mean they need to wear a mask in public spaces

I used to work in healthcare. The org I worked for started to use gender neutral language around pregnancy thanks to my coworker. CEO stopped that today bc “men can’t get pregnant.” Transphobia on full display. The little progress made is being stripped away. Im not surprised but its still bullshit.
Becoming disabled is *the* most radicalizing thing that can happen to you because it happens atop whatever marginalizations you already have, amplifies them into a laser focus.
