Thank you, those are two of my favorite things 😄
Studies from The Count of Monte Cristo (2024)
There's so many good interiors to paint in this movie, especially if you like stairs because the characters are always running up and down them 😆

Painting of a corner of a room with a low bookshelf, TV picturing a blank TV screen, an open door leading to a fire escape and tree, and pictures covering the wall. It is overcast and the mood is calm and quiet.
Painting of a corner of a room with a low bookshelf, TV picturing a “spotify” screen with a mountain and album cover, an open door leading to a fire escape and tree, and pictures covering the wall. It is dusk, and it is cool and raining outside but warm and cozy inside.
Painting of a corner of a room with a low bookshelf, TV picturing a “spotify” screen with a mountain and album cover, an open door leading to a fire escape and tree, and pictures covering the wall. It is very dark inside but an extremely bright sunlight comes through the door and windows. The mood is dramatic and slightly mystical.
All the paintings side by side with their associated color reference photos (the overcast one is a shot from a film with two people sitting on a dusty porch, the dusk one is an exterior shot of a cute convenience store, the dramatic one is a picture of the inside of a gothic church).
My room in 3 more palettes! Another exercise from @chuwenjie.bsky.social ’s class!

Two adorable kids in warm mongolian coats and hats ride a magical snow deer as it jumps over a market selling all kinds of odds and ends. They are chased by wolves made of slushy, melty snow (mix of threatening and cute), but the deer’s magic lights up the scene around them, making it feel more whimsical than scary. The smaller girl hugs the deer’s neck while the older one has just fired an imaginary arrow from her twig bow. Bells and holly hang on string above the snowy market and its round yurt stalls.

Here’s my contribution to StreetsOfZine: China! I chose to paint a view of Shanghai celebrating the Chinese New Year 🎆
Make sure to check out everyone’s work on their website! streetsofzine.com
A peaceful, rainy scene of a stream with lush trees on either side, and a bridge in the middle with two cranes on it. There are pillar-like mountains a ways behind the bridge. The tree trunks are narrow and straight but they are covered in a dense covering of small pointed leaves. A faint rainbow cuts through the rain behind the cranes, highlighting them and bringing warmth to the otherwise cool image.
My piece for Streets Of Zine China! The zine is live now, with SO many AMAZING artists' work, go check it out!
I wanted to do a fully nature scene after doing Night Market, so I chose part of the Zhangjiajie mountains (I've always wanted to visit those), the Golden Whip Stream
