Disinformation is a serious threat to democracy.

Elections BC has developed a Code of Practice for parties that includes, "Never knowingly engaging in misleading practices, such as producing or sharing inaccurate content."

Shame on ABC. Their desperation is showing.

Municipal socialism is the new wave - good to see @onecityvan.bsky.social @copevancouver.bsky.social and Vancouver Greens have reached an agreement in advance of Vancouver polls.

Today is the first-ever World Public Transport Day. COPE is committed to fighting for free, fast and accessible public transit in Vancouver.

Sean Orr's proposal for a free bus pilot was shot down in council. But with a progressive majority, we know we can deliver on the city's public transit needs.

"Council gave the green light to the proposal at a meeting Tuesday night. Only Councillor @seanorr.bsky.social was opposed...

The city asked for a $3.6-million voluntary contribution to fund projects such as parks or child care, but the developer declined."

The agreement stipulates that each party may field their own Mayoral candidate, but that parties agree to engage in a good-faith effort to determine which progressive mayor is best suited to compete.

"In 2022, there were too many great council candidates and not enough great Mayoral candidates," said Shawn Vulliez, Campaign Director for COPE, "We trust the voters to rally behind someone and show us who the strongest candidate is for Mayor over the summer, and we trust them to vote for the progressive candidates that best represent their priorities in October."

Today, we announced with @onecityvan.bsky.social and @vangreens.bsky.social that we've come to a three-party agreement to prevent blowing up the ballot with too many candidates, while still preserving and uplifting voter choice, just like in the by-election.

Me quote tweeting the mayor saying “bread and circuses except without the bread”. The mayors tweet reads: Vancouver should become the next home of a Major League Baseball team.

With the MLB publicly expressing interest in expansion in the near future, we see an opportunity to position our city as the next home for a franchise.

This could be an opportunity to bring something truly special to Vancouver. An MLB team would be a significant step forward for our city and would create lasting memories for fans across generations.
