Sexual predators do not belong in any level of government. Period. Full stop.
If they’re already in office, they should resign or be removed.
If they’re running for office, they should end their campaigns and drop out.
Some things really are that simple.

🚨ENDORSEMENT ALERT🚨
Our campaign has been endorsed by LiUNA Local 189, representing hundreds of hardworking Lexington laborers!
I’ve spent my entire tenure on Council fighting for the rights and dignity of working people and I always will.

A graphic which reads: "As we've seen through this collaboration with the outside firm Deloitte that led to the dissolution of the university's (faculty) senate, the university is straying further and further away from being an institution that centers students and workers," Curtis said. The university's actions to lessen the voice of staff, Curtis said, shows UK is prioritizing privatization and profit over its commitments to students and staff. Curtis said during a time in which UK is facing a student housing crisis, the university is prioritizing the funding of a small group of people, like outgoing athletics director Mitch Barnhart, who will receive an annual salary of $950,000 through Aug 31, 2030, according to former Kentucky Kernel reporting. "Simply put, this action makes it more difficult to live, work and thrive in the city of Lexington," Curtis said. "It doesn't reflect our city's values, it doesn't reflect our people's values. Lexington deserves better than another betrayal from the University of Kentucky." United Campus Workers challenge UK's Integrate Blue initiative, Kentucky Kernel, 4/11/2026
The University of Kentucky claims they “want to be a good partner to the City of Lexington.”
But “being a good partner to the City of Lexington” means being a good partner to the people who live and work here.
I’m proud to stand against UK’s attempts to throw working Lexingtonians under the bus.

A graphic reading— Curtis urged the crowd to see Kentucky as proof of what's possible. She said anti-trans legislation nationwide uses a playbook tested in states like Kentucky - and that the response of trans Kentuckians and their allies offers a model of self-advocacy and solidarity. "We have been here. We have been doing the work. And I can tell you now, three years later as an openly trans elected official in one of those states, the single most effective deterrent that we have against these attacks is the mere presence of a visible and competent trans person in the rooms where decisions are made," said Curtis. "My ask to each and every one of you is simple. Harness your visibility, embrace it, and take it and do good." "Take it and do good" - Councilwoman Emma Curtis on trans visibility and presence, WUKY, 3/31/2026
On Saturday, I spoke at our nation’s Capitol about the importance of visibility for transgender Americans during this moment of historic anger and division.
We are going to get through this together and we are going to win.
💙
Historically, you know you're the good guys when your side demands someone make a list of Jews.
Every day, Trans Kentuckians are under attack from Frankfort and Washington.
Today, on #TransDayOfVisibility, I’m asking you to donate what you can and help us build the bench of trans leaders in Kentucky to fight back against these attacks.

This Saturday, I’ll be in Washington, DC to commemorate #TransDayOfVisibility with @christopherstreet.bsky.social.
At this moment of historic fear and division, we must remain united and undeterred in our pursuit of basic freedom, safety, and dignity for every transgender American.

Thanks so much, David!
Thanks so much, Dawn!
Friends, we’ve got a re-election campaign to run and the unfortunate reality is that campaigns cost money.
That’s why I’m asking you to give whatever you’re able to support our re-election campaign.
Together, we can defend the progress we’ve made—and build a Lexington that works for ALL of us.

Had a great time at the Kentucky Young Democrats convention today!
When I was first elected to the KYD Board in 2023, our goal was to get 5 Young Dems to run for office in 2024.
In 2026, we have nearly 70 Young Dems running—and a whole lot of us are gonna win this November.
Let’s get it done!

#PreKforAll isn’t partisan—it’s just good policy.
Proud to join several of my colleagues at The HILL yesterday in support of it.
Please call 1-800-372-7181 and urge our legislature to pass HB574.
Municipal government is about delivering competent city services, clearing the roads and picking up the trash.
Yesterday, Lexington failed at those basic tasks yet again and there were hundreds of car accidents across our city as a result.
Enough is enough.

I was honored to march with Global Lex in today’s St. Patrick’s Day parade!
Our international community is an essential part of our city. No matter where you come from, you have a home here in Lexington.
💚
Scripture tells us to bear no grudges and to love our neighbors—no exceptions.
That principle guides me every day as I work to improve life for my neighbors across Lexington.
Our city and our commonwealth are facing a historic housing crisis.
If we are to seriously address it, we must prioritize the basic needs of working Lexingtonians and Kentuckians over the greed of predatory landlords and corporations.
Just a friendly reminder:
You do not have to watch Trump’s State of the Union tonight.
You can take a walk, hang out with a friend, cook a meal, go to a show, do anything!
Taking care of yourself and doing things you love doesn’t make you less engaged with what’s happening in this country.
The fight against SB150 was the most formative experience of my adult life.
I remain in awe of the kindness and grace that @andybeshearky.bsky.social has shown me personally, trans Kentuckians at large, and—most importantly—trans kids across the commonwealth.
We deserve more leaders like him.

@andybeshearky.bsky.social is right—the conditions of our roads in Lexington are unacceptable.
This Councilwoman welcomes any and all assistance from the state government in getting our roads cleared ASAP.
Then we must make tangible changes to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
Whether it’s these ice storms, tornadoes, or flooding across the commonwealth, we’re experiencing more severe weather events more frequently.
While I understand the desire to plan based on past storms, we are living in unprecedented times.
It’s past time for our city government to accept that.

Yesterday, I was proud to join friends, neighbors, and colleagues to commemorate #MLKDay2026.
May we all honor Dr. King’s memory not just by marching—but by working to prevent state-sponsored violence, eradicate poverty, and build a future free from the racism that continues to plague our country.
Graphic, which reads: COUNCILWOMAN EMMA CURTIS LEXINGTON'S 4TH DISTRICT STATEMENT ON ICE PRESENCE IN LEXINGTON When I see the pain that ICE is inflicting on cities and on families across the United States, I feel heartbreak and anger in equal measure. Law enforcement agents swear an oath to keep our communities safe, not to terrorize them. Yet, that is exactly what we see masked ICE agents doing day after day after day. Whether it's in the cruel and inhumane treatment of those held in concentration camps like "Alligator Alcatraz" or in the brutal murder of Renee Good, it's clear to anybody watching that ICE doesn't bring public safety-it brings terror and fear. There is no home for that terror and fear here in Lexington. In our city, we understand that "love thy neighbor" has no exceptions. While we cannot abolish ICE at the local level, we can ensure that our city's laws protect the safety, freedom, and liberty of all of our residents to the fullest extent. In the coming weeks, I will be introducing legislation to ensure that we do just that. There can be no safety, freedom, or liberty in the shadows-only in the light.

I’m excited to build on that work and make Lexington a city that works for all of us, because Lexington belongs to all of us.

This morning, I filed my petitions to appear on the ballot for re-election!
In my first year, we’ve taken tangible steps towards making our roads safe and efficient, giving renters and young people a seat at the table in our government, and making our city a more affordable place to live.
