Maria and Nugget are clearly bonded and depend on each other. Dogs are essential companions for the elderly who are home-bound and live alone. We are so glad Maria and Nugget have each other and thanks to your support, Kane's will continue to assist this pet family in the future. 🧵

Aren't these two the cutest? Nugget is a one year old poodle/shih tzu combo and also Maria's emotional support animal. This month, the Krew brought their first C.A.R.E. Kit of goodies. Kane's will also be arranging vaccinations and a neuter appointment for Nugget.

They are especially vital to our most vulnerable in society -- the elderly, disabled, veterans, domestic violence survivors and the unhoused. That's why the Kane's Krusade mission directly addresses the causes of surrender within these demographics. 🧵

Livvy's hooman is an elderly woman living on a tight fixed income. She recently lost her husband and Livvy is helping her cope with the loss. Dogs are healers. 🧵

Not only did Livvy get spayed, she also got a booster shot, microchip and pawdicure. In addition, Livvy had a hernia that was repaired and we are so excited another surgery was not required! We love the S/N Clinic team - they consistently go the extra mile for our pet families! 🧵

We had two dogs with Spaw Days recently, thanks to our furrends at Dakin Humane Society Spay/Neuter Clinic. We shared Ruby's story earlier this week and today we're celebrating adorable nugget Livvy. This is a younger picture of Livvy - she is around 7 months old now. 🧵

Rambo and Berto were referred to Kane's by one of our current pet families, which is one of the nicest compliments we can receive. We work hard to build trust and good will with our pet families and it shows when they care enough to help others in the community.

In addition to the C.A.R.E. Kit, thanks to you, Kane's sponsored a vet tech appointment for Rambo to get the remainder of his vaccinations for a total of $181.37. He was already established with a local vet and had received his rabies vaccination. 🧵

This handsome boi is a one year old American Bully and as you can see from the picture, he is stunning. The Krew loved meeting Rambo and his hooman when their first C.A.R.E. Kit was delivered. Rambo has a wonderful temperament and it's clear that he is the center of his hooman Berto's world. 🧵

The first picture is a drawing Monique's daughter made to thank us for helping her family. The picture of Pablo was taken just weeks ago when the Krew brought his most recent C.A.R.E. Kit.

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Pablo's hooman, Monique. She leaves behind a son and young daughter. We are hoping the family will be able to keep Pablo when they move to their relatives out of state. 🧵

A powerful way to thank those who served is to help a veteran in need. Please support the Pet Family Housing Initiative. As the days get colder, every dollar counts.

Through this special program, we provide short term stays in dog friendly hotels. We have also boarded dogs for a few veterans with medical emergencies. 🧵

In addition to sponsoring exams, vaccinations, diagnostics, food, equipment and spay/neuter services, we also provide comfort and safety through our Pet Family Housing Initiative. 🧵

BIG Paws Up to Family Krew member William D. for transporting Lynn and Cheddar to the appointment. As you can see in the picture, William has never met a dog who didn't love him!

We arranged a vet visit for Cheddar to receive his annual vaccinations. We also sponsored an ear cytology and medications for an ear infection. Cheddar often has hot spots this time of year and those are being treated as well. Thanks to your support, Cheddar is feeling better today! 🧵

They had to move out of their apartment and are now renting one room. It's not ideal, but certainly better than living on the streets or having to give up her dogs. 🧵

Look at these two handsome gentlemen! Cheddar is a 6 year old Golden Retriever. His hooman Lynn is an elderly woman. Along with the other dog in the pet family, they've been going through a lot recently. 🧵

Fortunately, King was seen in the afternoon and given some medication. The cause is still unknown and King is being monitored. Thank you for helping this pet family at a critical time - King is feeling better today because of you!
