Today is #InternationalDayofWomenandGirlsinScience
May this day remind us to keep opening doors through support and equal opportunities.
HLL will again join Girls’ Day on 23 April 2026 to inspire schoolgirls to explore science and tech careers.

#OutfitCheck for our laboratory!
This is what the basic clothing for the less sensitive laboratory areas looks like.
If only getting changed was always so quick...
The second “Silicon Sensors for Radiation Detection and Quantum Applications” workshop just concluded!
The event brought together top experts to explore synergies in silicon-based sensor and quantum device technologies.
Thanks to all who made it a success!

Last week we invited 18 girls to gain insight into our #research work!
They soldered and assembled their own #detectors, which can be used to measure even low levels of radiation. We’re happy to provide young girls with such hands-on experiences and to inspire their enthusiasm for #science. 👩🏻🔬
Impressions of Girls' Day yesterday: schoolgirls took the opportunity to gain an insight into the world of semiconductor technology. After a theoretical introduction came the practical part! At the end, the girls had a sensor in their hands with which they can detect low levels of radiation. 👧 💪 🔬
In honor of tomorrow’s #InternationalWomensDay, we asked Jelena Ninkovic to share her experiences as a woman in science. Her advice to young female scientists: Stay authentic and seek a supportive network. Science thrives on diverse perspectives and everyone belongs in the room! #WomenInScience
We’re excited to bring the Semiconductor Lab of @maxplanck.de to #bluesky! 🦋Here, we’ll share the latest updates, research, and insights from our colleagues at HLL. Follow us to stay informed about our innovations and ongoing projects! 😊
