Single frame. Title: “[redacted]” A line of early teen? girls looking at the viewer. Behind them, silhouettes of four generic men, some with hand on shoulders of the girls, which have been through six iterations of redaction to satisfy the newspaper’s lawyers that none are identifiable.

The poster says it all. Herzog is not welcome, should never have been invited and should face the International Criminal Court. This is the window of Advision in Wagga Wagga, thanks Michael Agzarian. @ronnisalt.bsky.social @sarahschwartz.bsky.social @joshbornstein.bsky.social

The face. The behaviour.

Chris Minns being asked a very curly question and trying to defend his controversial hate-speech laws while sounding and acting like a 6 year old caught hitting a baby with a cat.

In Albo's new antisemitism bill, the definition of "hate crime", which underpins the new regime to proscribe "hate groups" like the Nazis, specifically excludes "advocating genocide". That is, advocating genocide is treated as not being a racist hate crime. Now, why would that be?

I’m still amazed that the sub judice aspect has been ignored in the rolling media campaign for a Bondi royal commission.
In case you’ve not read about it (and why would you) I’ve written about it here:

The US has launched an unprovoked and illegal attack on Venezuela.

This is a brazen attempt to secure control over Venezuelan natural resources.

It is an act of war that puts the lives of millions of people at risk, and should be condemned by anyone who believes in sovereignty & international law.

Donald Trump's 'capture' of Nicolás Maduro has been months in the making While Mr Maduro remained publicly defiant in the face of US pressure to step down, in private he was taking measures to dodge a potential US strike, and even reportedly negotiating with American officials over a possible managed exit.

The US is now responsible for the governance of Venezuela. Toppling the regime of a smaller country is always the easy part. The hard part is what comes after. Neo-cons always expect a pro-US nirvana. It rarely works out. But I suppose the oil companies can seize some assets.

Australia's road toll is rising, but not for the reason you think A grim year on our roads, especially for pedestrians.

TAX. THESE. OUT. OF. EXISTENCE!

These monstrosities should be illegal! Large vehicles are markedly deadlier for pedestrians. Being struck by a large SUV raises the risk of death by around 40 per cent compared with a smaller car; for children, the risk is up to eight times higher..."

And good luck getting back into your car if one of these monsters parks beside you. They take up an entire parking bay and more and should be taxed more for this reason alone. Trucks not cars they are.

It would be practically and legally impossible to hold a royal commission that goes anywhere near the actions or motivations of the accused killer, before his criminal proceedings are concluded, which could take years. That limitation would render the royal commission itself pointlessly premature.

People who paid pure lip-service to a Royal Commission's findings suggesting we need a Royal Commission.

Glorious. Stick it on the front page.

Documentary Brazen Hussies outlines the critical reforms Whitlam put in place for women, appointing an advisor for women's affairs for the first time. I study this film with my ATAR students. They need to know this history and the doco makers don't want us to forget it.

One of the most damaging and enduring aspects of the Dismissal, fifty years ago today, was its poisoning of the electorate against the Whitlam government, ensuring that it would lose the subsequent election and creating fear of progressive government.

Stunning observations

Watch how our society in all its facets - built by men, designed by men, produced by men, predominantly controlled by men - works to protect the man every time

✍️ PETITION: Australia Needs a National Firearms Register Our research has revealed there are now more licenced firearms in Australia than before the 1996 Port Arthur massacre. ✍️ Add your name to call on the Federal Government to urgently establish a Nation...

There are now more licenced firearms in AU than b4 the 1996 Port Arthur massacre – & we still have no National Firearms Register.
Australians need gun laws that live up to the bravery of the 1st laws, but now, these laws are no longer fit for purpose.

I was talking with my Dad this morning after #insiders. Dad had ‘things’ to say about Marles. (Unsurprising to me, but still.. 😳)

Dad, BTW, is the longest-serving Australian military Chief we’ve had since WW II and also the oldest (@ 90yrs) still alive.

He’s seen more than a few Ministers 🤔

Hastie threatens to quit frontbench, issues net zero ultimatum to Ley Andrew Hastie’s opposition to net zero emissions is well known, but his provocative comments about quitting the frontbench are a fresh test of Opposition Leader Sussan Ley’s authority.

“[hastie] has picked a hell of a day to say he will die on the hill of net zero… millions of australians were just warned about the potentially catastrophic impacts of climate change and he is saying to them ‘i don’t give a stuff’.”
