Imagine that you made snacks for your boss and she hated them so you disguised yourself as someone else (for unrelated villain reasons) but before you use the disguise for villain things you first feed the protagonists your cooking to check the veracity of your cooking. Good show.

"the streets I played on" I cannot stress enough the number of passed out living people about to get transformed into monsters. The stakes have gotten So high when we weren't looking.

Like, in a similar 'for boys' show the protagonists couldn't acknowledge just what it would mean and how it effected them. This rules. (Also it is bad)

The all-is-lost speech, realizing what she'll lose if they don't beat the villain's apocalyptic plans: "All the places that made me who I am"

I notice that, because girls are allowed to have emotions and by extension the protagonists of "girl media" are allowed to as well, the stakes are a lot more... Real?

She's running up dragonfire to punch someone (the dragon), this popcorn show slaps.

I may be passing out periodically from pain, but at least our technical narrative in fights has escalated to the point where we are running up dragonfire to punch people.
