I fully agree with the calls from our community leaders: we should reject hatred and instead unite through the ideals of compassion, love and service.
I was proud to represent the Welsh Liberal Democrats and join the Conservatives, Greens, Labour and Plaid Cymru at this event. [2/2]

On Monday, I joined Cllr Imran Latif and reps from other political parties in #caerdyddffynnontaf to give my support to our faith leaders in Wales for shared values of religious freedom, social cohesion and co-existence, denouncing hatred, dehumanisation and division. [1/2]
The Welsh Liberal Democrats want to reform business rates in Wales to take the pressure off smaller, independent businesses. We're also proposing a £400 million fund to help struggling high street and shopping streets like City Road. #CaerdyddFfynnonTaf [2 of 2]
I recently had the chance to visit Farrouj on City Road with Jane Dodds to hear about the challenges facing small businesses in the hospitality sector in the current economic climate. [1 of 2]
There is a pattern here. Both Chris Wormald and Olly Robbins appointed by this Government. Both sacked by press release when Starmer under pressure. Robbins may have approved Mandelson but it’s not credible that he acted alone w/o instruction from No10.

The Welsh Liberal Democrats would not support a Reform government in Wales or a Reform First Minister being appointed.
This morning I was at BBC Wales to represent the Welsh Liberal Democrats on Politics Wales, talking about the campaign for the Welsh Senedd elections.

Very sad to see the former Gaiety cinema on City Road now being demolished. Sadly Cardiff's Labour council had essentially left the building to rot since 2012 despite Lib Dem calls for the council to step in.
At the last council meeting, I moved a motion seeking to secure a cross-party call on the next Welsh Government to bring forward a clear, funded plan to rebuild the Heath Hospital. Operations & treatments are being postponed or delayed due to the state of some of the buildings. youtu.be/iKCWZg_zI1s
I’m pleased to have secured a cross-party commitment through my motion to Cardiff Council to support the need to rebuild the Heath Hospital. However, Labour councillors watered down my call. We need a clear, funded plan from the next Welsh Government.

Cardiff's Labour-run council pressed ahead with making a decision despite having botched the consultation by seeking views from the wrong councillors ⬇️

It's now 50 days to go to the Welsh Senedd election.
It's been great to have Lee Dillon, Liberal Democrat MP for Newbury, join our Senedd campaign in Caerdydd Ffynnon Taf this weekend. Listen to what he has to say.

Frustration and ideas in equal measure at last night's Adamsdown and Splott community forum.
Lots of support from residents and businesses for many of our ideas, especially in our Clifton Street campaign.

Wishing all those observing Ramadan across Cardiff and Wales a peaceful and blessed month.
May this sacred time bring reflection, compassion and strength to those celebrating, their families and their communities.
Ramadan Mubarak. 🌙✨

Today, I visited the 'Warm Space' at St Andrew's Church in Birchgrove. Initiatives like this provide a valuable opportunity for people to socialise - as well as to have somewhere warm to go if they are struggling with the cost of keeping the heating on at home in this cold weather.
It's shocking that incompetence under the watch of Cardiff's Labour-run council led to £6 million of taxpayers cash effectively going up in smoke. Lessons now must be learned from this catalogue of failure. Read my comments 👇

I'm calling for the independent report on this botched procurement to be published so we can learn the lessons from how £6 million of tax payers' cash was lost by Cardiff's Labour-run council.

I’ve had an amazing response to this petition against the threat to relocate Ysgol Bro Edern away from east Cardiff. Have you signed it yet?

Today is Holocaust Memorial Day. I was honoured to attend yesterday's commemoration at Cardiff's Temple of Peace. A very moving service. #HolocaustRemembrance #HMD
I've called on Cardiff Council to rule out relocating Ysgol Bro Edern from east Cardiff to provide a local Welsh-medium high for the south of the city. Both the east & the south should have local schools. youtu.be/h7-h4_5FgUU

Yet another prediction that the Liberal Democrats are on track to win Cardiff East at the next General Election.
The University Hospital of Wales is crumbling. Reports of sewage and water leaks, heating and water supply breakdowns, and pigeons in clinical areas show how badly it has deteriorated. Back my campaign demanding a plan is brought forward to fix it. ⬇️

It was a great pleasure to join fellow politicians, Rabbi Rose and other members of Cardiff's Jewish community this evening for the Chanukah Menorah lighting at the Senedd. The recent sad events in Bondi were very much in our thoughts.
Had a really good discussion last night with some of my campaign team about our plans for the next stage of our campaign for May's Senedd election. It was great to review how things are going in Caerdydd Ffynnon Taf and start planning ahead into next year.
Nigel Farage publicly promoted cryptocurrency Tether, and then received a massive donation from one of its major investors. The whole thing stinks.
That’s why @LisaSmartMP.bsky.social has written to the electoral commission calling for an urgent investigation. ⬇️
