I really like Richard Carrier and Paulogia. It’s difficult to find anything long form, *historical and well-done. I’ve listened to some of Bart Ehrman’s stuff, but it does seem like he takes a break to sell something every 24 seconds or so.

It might be interesting to note: the movement against empathy did not originate with Mr. Kirk. It’s been a talking point on the Christian Right. “The Sin of Empathy” by Joe Rigney is one of many examples. Mr. Kirk was merely parroting the work of others, which is what commentators do.

Empathizing with those following an idealogy demonizing emphathy isn’t weakness.

It’s a power move. Literally, it’s empowering.

I also believe in a slow, subtle way- it seeds empathy in others.
