My favorite era of Will Johnson(even tho every release is magical) were these 4 albums. Spent so much time with these releases. My favorite all time Will Johnson band or solo is El Capitán.

I’ve listened to Matt Arbogast’s(The Gunshy) catalogue a ton over the last year or so. I’ve really enjoyed all the releases and lyrical content. Definitely one of my favorite artists that way more people should know about.

One of my absolute favorite artists to see live. Seen JCA quite a few times over the years and every time is such a magnificent experience. There is such a calming vibe that takes you away from space and time for a bit.

There are a few things I hope happen in the music world in the future. This is at the top of the list…..that Andrew Bryant and Matt Arbogast collab again on another Loose Collars album. This release was pure magic 🪄

Hard to find a better run of three albums by an artist. I was a city boy from Chicago. When I went to college in the Little Apple, I really connected with this man’s music. My favorite old school country artist ever.

This album is a classic and cooler than your favorite band’s debut album😎

My favorite living artist has finally released a book about his amazing musical and artistic journey. This will be my fav book of all time. My 2nd that previously held that spot was the recently released Justin Townes Earle one my fav songwriter ever. Reading is grand for me 😎

One of my fav songwriters is dropping an album real soon. Have always loved his evolution as an artist. Can’t wait to hear it all the two singles released are amazing.

Big day for my fellow Southside fans. Noah Schultz is getting his first career start. Waited a minute for this one.

One of my favorite Wilco albums of all time. Played this album way too many times since 2007. Loved seeing these songs fleshed out live a few times also. No matter my day Wilco’s music puts me in a better mood.

JCA is an artist I’ve listened to for many years and seen some live over the years. He’s a multi instrumentalist who has played with John Moreland, SG Goodman, Porter and many others. As a songwriter his solo stuff is that ultimate mellow experience. He is also the nicest guy you’ll ever meet.

One of the most underrated artists I’ve listened to now for years. Has so many songs that just move the soul. This song is as close to a modern day “Hey Jude” as there can be. Absolutely stunning.

An appreciation post for the band I’ve seen the most in recent memory(13 times now). Songwriting and talent are in the stratosphere in my opinion. Two of my fav artists to chat with as well after and before the shows. Their music makes the world a tad bit more tolerable for me.

Not surprising that many years ago when I first stumbled upon the greatest streaming service ever……Bandcamp that these were my first two albums purchased…..Susto’s debut album and one of the late great Chris Porter’s early bands. Now my collection is at 398. Music wise it’s where to find me 😎

A very rare gem of an album by one of my fav bands ever. If lucky enough to have a copy like myself play it often. A raw recording of just Ian w/ guitar or piano. Songs like “Devil as a Child” & “Steal a Memory” are two of my fav songs ever by him. Start to finish as good as it gets.

Still remember when this dropped in 2017. Been listening to Porter a while before this but this was that game changing album for him and unfortunately his last. To this day a top 5 songwriter ever for me. Knew how to break your heart with honesty and real stories.

Every year I do a 10 most preferred albums of the year based on how often the albums are spun by me. It is April and this is my top one by a long shot…..actually I don’t have any of the other 9 at this point. Adeem is lyrically so good they go unnoticed by most music fans.

Greatest super group ever assembled

For those who have never listened to The Gunshy really should start. Great gritty songs about life and living. A wealth of experiences to draw from, he sings the songs in a raspy worn voice. One of my few bucket list artists to see live for sure.

Honestly two of my favorite, most played albums in the last 10 years. More people should know these and spin them with regularity.

Was a perfect night after a root canal in the AM to see one of the best bands I’ve ever listened to and two of the most genuine musicians I’ve ever interacted with. About a baker’s dozen amount of times I’ve seen them now. Also was cool to see old music friends and chat a bit.

An appreciation post for that one band I can’t stop listening to ever and some fun pics from the many times I’ve seen them live over the years. My Politic is one of the very best bands in all of music and two of the nicest artists I’ve had the opportunity to chat with.
