The Wetland Project has been my favorite alternate-reality radio experience since it began. Since it only happens once a year, you can’t become accustomed to it. Close your eyes and be washed over by the sonic reality of an isolated bog on Saturna Island!

Resilience and “Bouncing Back:
Or: How do we deal with these cha-cha-cha-changes? Rather than blocking out the things that have happened, this suggests that we integrate them in to move forward. This is not only for the physical, but other forms of trauma, too.

The end of Viktor Orbán’s autocratic regime is a victory not just for Hungary, but for people who value democracy around the world. Congratulations to Tisza, to incoming leader Péter Magyar, and to Hungarians everywhere.
Posting for a friend
Once again dealing with the METAmadness and posting a link for a friend. So here it is: Le prédateur et les proies : ce que l’étude des animaux nous apprend sur les climats toxiques au travail . . .it's a link to the Canadian French site for The Conversation.
An aside “picky, picky”. . . it’s “ARRR-chi-vist” with a long stress on the first syllable.
Considering that AI searches reported a close friend as being dead and me in several bands that don’t exist, I have no faith in the veracity of it…
Right now, we are witnessing a preview of what could happen in the USA this November. Hungary's opposition party, Tisza, is so far ahead in the polls that they are on track to win a supermajority in the parliament, spelling the end of Orban.
The only way Orban can remain is to subvert the election.
“War itself is, of course, a form of madness. It’s hardly a civilized pursuit. It’s amazing how we spend so much time inventing devices to kill each other and so little time working on how to achieve peace.”
~Walter Cronkite.

Having worked as an economist (a bit of an outcast economist who insisted on asking the questions we weren't supposed to ask) for decades, this one speaks to me.
"Last month, the AP agreed to sell U.S. elections data to Kalshi, the world’s largest predictions market ... the company saw a 30% increase in customers between the 2020 and 2024 cycles."
News agencies becoming data brokers for AI and prediction markets is not good.
Even if you don’t normally stop what you’re doing to watch video, you’ll want to see Professor Scheppele explain what we can learn about protecting our own upcoming elections by watching Orbán’s machinations ahead of the Sunday election there. Essential viewing!

And those of us who spent the time there, enjoying the best chocolate in the world… 😇
They're doing it again because you didn't hang them last time.
Outrageous
In '79, Brian Eno encountered percussionist David Van Tieghem at Max's Kansas City in NYC. Unbeknownst to Van Tieghem, Eno was tracking his career. That nite, Eno invited Van Tieghem to work on My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, w/David Byrne & Robert Fripp.

"I think there's too little discussion in the United States that Trump may conduct war crimes in the war against Iran. Targeting civilian infrastructure to torture the civilian population into unrest is a war crime. Whatever the objective of the war, we will all live with the stain of that for decades to come."
O, it is excellent
To have a giant’s strength; but it is tyrannous
To use it like a giant.
Christianity is the biggest, most profitable scam in America.
Marco Rubio declared that under the Constitution being born in the USA does not make you a citizen unless your parents are citizens.
Marco Rubio's parents were Cuban immigrants who were NOT citizens at the time of his birth.
Do you think Marco will now self-deport?
We can do this before January 2029 if we impeach and remove both him and J.D before then.
