I am all for people having chickens, and pigs, and cows, and sheep as companion animals, just the way we have cats and dogs. But our goal is to ensure they live the happiest and healthiest life. Not to use their bodies for our benefit.

Animals are individuals. Every time they are seen as resources, there is potential for exploitation.

Typically, chicken should eat their own eggs to replenish the calcium they loose from making the shells. Cows should give their milk to their calves. They don't consent to us stealing from them.

Ohh for suuuuure!! I have a homemade tofu salad almost every week and it is sooo good!! Being vegan also made me realize that salads are much more than just lettuce and tomato with some dressing!
