I like quarto slides very much, but efficiency depends on the topic. It's ideal for slides with text, code, formula, and calculated images and tables. For more visual content I wished to have something like Inkscape embedded.

Agree. It had some bugs at the beginning, but is now quite stable. HTML is great for online reading and navigation, but students want a PDF for note taking at their tablet.

I use Quarto slides for my R stats courses. Code checked every time it is built, can be copied to R for testing. Fast navigation. Embedded Rgl 3D images, links to original papers .. I'put them on Github, so it's available everywhere. If a student asks, I send a link to a particular slide.
