I totally get this! Accessibility & preferences are so individual— this post has gotten a little out past my regular audience & I hope it’s not hitting people wrong. I really want everyone enjoying words & stories in their preferred format ♡
Yes!! This being The Internet™ I’m worried people will hear me saying something I am not here 🫠 but you get me! 🖤
To be v clear: I’m v pro read-in-whatever-format-works-for-you, but I struggle with e-books. Audio books changed the game for me when I was fighting dark, sucking depression a few years ago— but physical books are my forever favorite & being able to enjoy them again has me feeling feelings today🖤
Screenshot of a long post by Megan that reads: I love books. Physical books I can hold in my hands. Spines I can run my fingers down. Pages I can turn & dog-ear (I know, I know) & underline. Well-worn copies lining the library shelves, read by who knows how many others. My own copy I can lend to a friend. Thick volumes I can feel the weight of in my hands & slim poetry collections I can flip through again & again (& feel the weight of in my heart). These things are irreplaceable, unchangeable, return-to-able. Real & sturdy, in a way I need them to be. Books. Books forever.
ps this is recovery
sometimes you just need shitty pizza & nothing else will do
Birthday setup: pink backdrop with a pink bow garland and “happy birthday” banner. The table is covered in a pink tablecloth with a white Miffy cake and lots of gifts
Today my sweet Roo— my middle girl— turns 12. She is graceful & determined & brave. She is funny & weird & has the best laugh. She adds so much good to life & being her mom & knowing her is just the best. 🤍
little things I never want to forget:
Indie misheard “grungy nineties” as “grumpy nineties”
My students’ response was overwhelmingly “Ms Megan you always dress like this” 🖤
Mirror selfie of Megan wearing black overalls a grey shirt and a red flannel around her waist with a heavy chain necklace and eyeliner
decade day Megan
wait I love this
“The house is loud because you gave them a home they feel free in.”

Here’s what we’re not gonna do today: relentlessly beat ourselves up for things we’re actively working to get a handle on, to shift, to change.
Here’s what we *are* gonna do: take a breath, take a break, take our time. And then, when we’re ready, keep going.
We’re okay.
ok wait I thought y’all might want to see these 🥹
A kinda blurry picture taken out the plane window of Chicago at night
I got a little teary when I left the city last night. So much time here, so many new experiences, & so many memories over the last 18 months. Goodbye for now, Chicago. I’ll be back someday. ❤️
This story is the best thing I’ve heard in a minute 😂
I love to see Nutmeg living her best life! 🥹

Two black plates sit on a wooden dining room table. On each plate is a perfectly golden brown pizza grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough and a handful of sweet potato fries.
pizza grilled cheese forever
A very blurry photo of half of Lennon the orange cat’s face pressed right up to the phone camera. You can also see his front legs and a colorful (Star Wars) blanket.
I tried to get a picture to show y’all how much Lennon likes me & wants to hang out close to me, but he wouldn’t stop hanging out as close to me as possible so this is whatcha get. Sorry not sorry. 🥹❤️
Gooey Butter Cake Bars Recipe Ingredients * 1 box yellow cake mix * ½ cup butter, melted * 4 large eggs, 2 + 2 * 2 tsp vanilla extract, 1 + 1 * 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened * 4 cups powdered sugar Directions 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease 9×13 pan. 2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix + melted butter + 2 eggs + 1 tsp vanilla. Press into your prepared pan to form the base. 3. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese + remaining 2 eggs + remaining 1 tsp vanilla. Slowly beat in the powdered sugar until smooth. 4. Spread cream cheese mix over base. 5. Bake ~35-40 minutes until golden and just set. Cool before cutting.
Here ya go! Typed it out from a reel I saw it on. 10/10 recommend.
My notes: step 2 you can mix by hand; step 3 I added powdered sugar in 1 cup at a time; we chilled in fridge for ~20 minutes before cutting— still warm & delicious. Store in fridge, equally delicious cold the next morning! Enjoy!

The only photo I’ve taken all weekend, but it’s a good one 🥰
an update: it was worth it, and I’d brave the scary parts 100x over again for this. @drdoylesays.bsky.social you are my foreverever favorite. ❤️
Hey, quick reminder that april fools “jokes” about pregnancy aren’t funny. They’re just not— but they are often hurtful or triggering or just plain mean or or or.

Megan’s hand holding a tiny glass potion bottle closed with a brown stopper. It has multi-colored cool sparkles and beads inside and is carefully labeled “MOM” in a child’s handwriting on a teensy yellow label
“Mom, I made this potion for you. It makes you the most lovable person in the world! …except that you are already that.”
Oh. 🤍
