Exactly! While certain things can be FUN to keep secret (mostly character background stuff), there's absolutely no reason to not be openly communicative elsewhere. It's a collaborative story game; give your fellow players more to work with. You get a better result and a happier table overall.

Cannot stress enough - communicate with people at the table. Tell them what you want from the table, what you will provide, and when things are bothering you, but also let them know that they can, AND SHOULD, communicate with you in return. Love me some communication at the table.
