I had a medium I thought was good but couldn’t figure out why I could switch into the most unoptimized avatar I had and get over double the frames. The halos particles were nuking the performance, 1 was rated medium, one was VERY poor.
It’s a flawed system. It needs more data points and variables.
Should be a score (maybe 1-100?) and different variables will drive up the score. 70k polys will hit harder if they’re all animated. Static would be a lower cost to the points. Over 100 points is “very poor”
I feel like it should be a point based system. This is for smarter people than me to figure out. But for instance a 60k poly model with 20 meshes and 30 materials is going to perform vastly worse than 80k polys and 3 materials and 2 meshes. This should not be the case. But the performance rating -
It definitely beats robots and giant mushrooms running around. I’m just mostly curious on the psychology on what ends up becoming accepted / common :p
I optimize where I can, Ive learned what I have time to do, I’m not going to spend time remaking the mesh of someone’s outfit, troubleshoot issues that decimating can bring to clipping etc if at the end result, Im still very poor rated. I do have medium / poors but not feeling the avatar that night
The 70k limit is why I gave up, why spend 8 hours to get to 70k, when I can just be 250k in 0 minutes. I’m limited in my free time. I don’t want to be chasing polygons every moment I’m off work to make an outfit. I started to lose motivation making avatars when I realized an outfit wasn’t gonna work
I’m curious how people adapt, accept, will they avoid instances? Cave and use an avatar that’s optimized? Say screw it and not care if anyone can see them or not?
Seems kinda like a moot point. VPs can still join an instance and see their own avatar. But will appear to others as an imposter. (Already were if people had their settings adjusted). I’m curious if groups that have traditionally VPs, will just be lobbies of imposters lol
I think the intention of not being able to show people is it would incentivize people to ignore needing a better rated avatar.
My thought on that is, people who are very poor, (I optimize where I can but I gave up polygon wise) already don’t care if others can’t see their avatar. So it -
I’m thinking of starting my weekly photo hop nights again. I pruned my discord a little from people I haven’t talked to in a long time, it’s not personal. I’m just cleaning it up a bit. If I removed you and you want back in or to world hop. Let me know (:
FUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH 🥵🥵🥵
Pre-weekend prep
I’m slacking on my gains ):
I broke to of their headsets, both on the hinge for the earphones to swivel. The battery life would be great, sometimes I’d get home and they’d die after 10 minutes. Idk the mic quality and audio quality was solid but it’s such a shit built headset.
Dating someone who frequents the scene was probably the worst thing I’ve done for my Vrchat experience and my genuinely worst relationship experience lmao. I’m just thankful I met them outside of my direct friend group. That experience isn’t the case for everyone though.
I’d love a nap 😭
All free time should be legally mandated to be spent grinding 200m all xp on every skill. 200m all? Do it again.
Some people have a diabolical about of free time and it shows
The past year and a half have been black screen / crash nation for Nvidia owners 🫠 all the driver support efforts go to the ai bros now.
This is a ticket id just delete and if i got questioned for deleting it, id say it looked like spam.
Did you guys know that
This is by no means scientific, just a quick test between CPUs on a 1440p display on desktop, none the less I was expecting a lot less of a gain.
New cpu, yolo

It’s crazy how getting a new job and moving can fix your mental health
I think it’s somewhat human nature to form groups and some people are just immature and flat out trying to live the high school experience they didn’t have, tbh.
I have a couple monitors at my work setup.
Come shake some ass 😸
