Him: What would be your dream job
Me: Oh that's easy. Sitting on the back of a motorbike on the Tour de France pushing idiots into the ditch
Him: Oh come off it there's no such job
Me:
*I am an old woman now, with one foot in the grave and the other on its edge. I have experienced much ease and much hardship from the day I was born until this very day*.
VERY COOL PERSON: It's four-twenty, you know what that means?
ME: Hell yeah! [starts shoving blackbirds into a pie]
*I'm sorry Sir, no, you can't drive through, there's an injured man inconveniently in the middle of your way*
[eyeroll gif]
Somewhere Bismarck is looking down in confusion as Germany projects power by sending 4,000 pensioners, 12 buffet stations and a TUI loyalty program through the Strait of Hormuz
I live right beside a notorious traffic accident black spot. Always amazes me how drivers will happily ignore diversion signs and drive straight into a closed road
and then *completely* lose the cool when the Guards say sorry no you have to go back that way
“Feud with the Pope” is BACK as a likely Wikipedia section heading after a 400-year gap.
L: A young W B Yeats wearing pince nez and a large bow tie. R: A middle-aged Aleister Crowley wearing a large (possibly homburg) black hat and the ‘I’m mad, me’ expression that he always put on for photos
Ah! 19 April – 126th anniversary of the day William Butler Yeats kicked Aleister Crowley downstairs as they fought for control of the British branch of the not-at-all-ridiculous Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in the Battle of Blythe Road. According to legend, anyway... 🧵
Formal business/legal emails are so funny
DEAR Tom,
I'm going to sue you into the fucking ground and make sure you and your pathetic progeny are immiserated for generations to come.
KIND REGARDS,
Helen

"I made a deal to keep the Strait of Hormuz open. I mean it this time."
😍
Ziggy is SO cute too!
That's exactly how I reacted 😬
This is a genuinely mindblowing combination. 1) Deliberately false information, 2) promoted in schools, 3) using public money, 4) in the service of private profits, 5) at the cost of our collapsing ecosystem.
Yeah. It was a short trip so they rescheduled me for the next day, which meant if I stayed with the return booking I would have pretty much arrived, stayed an hour and then had to fly back. I did explain this to them but nope.
Ended up having to go *back* a day so an extra night in a hotel. Ugh
@mcculld.bsky.social If your airline cancels an outbound flight, which results in you having to change your homebound flight they will charge you a huge fee for changing it because *they didn't cancel the homebound flight* aagh
(Sent by a person caught in 9th circle of rebooking hell)
Pfffff first she's heard of it I'm sure
Hi ZIGGY

I have this image of the inner circle of moochers , goons and sycophants-all sitting around, footstooling interns, laughing at their own jokes, snapping gum, daring and double daring each other to post or say something even more offensive than the last time- just to see if anything happens.
I need to make a note of where I was when the smiting began

Do we know who published it? Wrote it? Illustrated it? Who commissioned it and for what purpose?
And
of course
who paid for it
