Fuck you NY state retirement! I just collected my dad’s ashes and when I called to be sure there would be money for his internment, your phone system literally hung up on me without letting me talk to someone. That’s just fucked up and painful at this moment.
Why I will never work #NYS again.
Since early March, I’ve been writing all my stuff in a word processor I made with Claude Code. It’s been a delightful experience. Here’s why I did it, and some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
Just picked up my dad’s ashes and copies of his death certificate. It feels kind of weird having him in a bag on the dining room floor until I can arrange a grave side service to inter him next to my mom.
So under Tim cook things I bought even a decade at (web I was somehow surviving my first divorce).

Yesterday I couldn’t find my shoes, today couldn’t (and still haven’t) find the bottle of olive oil and my keys. I eventually found the keys. Olive oil remains MIA

Just emailed my dad’s niece to her that I do have a #tbi and a lot of normal things are hard(er).
I mean it was just a simple mail to form but I could look at it without needing exedrin.
I’ll hand it to #NYS. They do make it easy to report the death of an employee or retiree. of the many state websites and apps, I’ve dealt with over my career, the ease of this tool is practically shocking.

CVS is a good option. I’ve been looking at them mostly at Walmart, which always seems to have a healthy stock of them.
