Finally coloured this caricature of Lucy from Fallout! ☢️

And I pretty much use that technique for everything I colour that’s not a fully rendered painting.

But my process altogether is:

Flats first, shading (multiply) + highlights with a hard brush, soft airbrush to get a gradient for depth.

And then I flatten everything, copy that layer, add a gradient map and experiment with colours, and then lower the opacity of it to harmonize everything!

I had a couple references for the buildings that I liked so I loosely picked off of those!

And then I wanted to keep the forest colours cold and village warm so it was more inviting.

Officially finished up with my animation program this week and am excited to finally share some of the work I've been doing!
