Dort posting about how he's awake against the nightmare (the nightmare is the jews) .

Jennica is obviously fucking insane, like "has cooked her brain to the point she's indistinguishable from someone with schizophrenia" but dort, boy, I dunno

Kinda seems suboptimal a FGO is applaudingly RTing stuff saying his service secretary is part of a jew plot to depose the president

Tasnim: Iran is out, not sending a delegation to Islamabad.

AP: US is out, not sending JD Vance to Islamabad.

The thing is you have a Secretary of Defense who quite literally does not think germs are real, he explicitly rejects germ theory

The question to ask isn't "why did pete do (x)," it's "why did roger wicker vote to confirm a guy who literally doesn't think germs are real"

The A-10 should be retired, tho, this is going to impact the ability to get newer aircraft online (F-35, F-15EX, B-21, etc.).

Eh, it's part of USAF's long tradition of "There's the name, then there's OUR name." It's why you find F-16 Fighting Falcon crew who refer to their aircraft as "Vipers," and why the F-117 Nighthawk was sometimes called "Stinkbug."

Too much marketing hype for too little delivery combined with "what you actually want if you succeed sounds horrifying" has a way of alienating people, it turns out.

The question is: will they learn from this?

Everything I see suggests "no."

Trump, who said in the 2024 campaign that Kamala Harris would start World War 3, compares his war against Iran to World War II

It’s inaccurate to say Mario is brave and Luigi is cowardly

Luigi is afraid of death, so he runs away from danger. Mario is afraid of living, so he runs towards death. Both brothers are cowards in their own way

I was more of a Lady Gaga fan in college but there's no denying Katy Perry late 00s/early 10s is pure sugary pop magic.

Rural Americans are open to "progressive ideology" until it involves:
-Moving
-Other(Different) people moving to their rural area
-Any increase in taxes
-Any new jobs that aren't like the old jobs
-City (Black) people getting government money

Good luck talking around that

These vibes and aesthetics shift and aren't possible to nail down so even if you get a dem who checks 99% of them, the 1% missing will be honed in on by the "protectors of the forgotten man" or whatever who will insist that dem isn't REALLY working class.

It's been one of the dominant narratives in center-left spaces since 2016, ranging from "here's Tim Walz in camo" to "You won't believe it, but this dem drives... a TRUCK?!?" and none of it matters because "working class" in America isn't income level, it's vibes and aesthetics.

A lot of Cold War policies were deeply immoral, but the formation of NATO, western European unification, collective security etc were good and acceptable responses to what the USSR was up to.

We're hard-wired to like weird stuff that doesn't really help us in any material way, it just makes us happy, but that in and of itself can be valuable.

That's true-- but live music is also popular, even when it's not that good. I remember talking with a touring band in upstate NY, and they weren't wealthy, but they made enough money to make rent by playing bars. Those bars could play streaming tunes already for cheaper, but that wouldn't be live.

Some people will always prefer stuff live. There's still live theater in an era of endless streaming. It's frequently qualitatively worse than its on-screen adaptations... but it's real. And that's enough for some people. I struggle to imagine "watch my AI version of Othello" being a hit.

I'm curious as to how much maintenance they're doing. That's not the PRC's strong suit with currently fielded fighters.

Then again, they only need these to take off and fly towards Taiwan...

Imo it seemed like the common denominator of the people I recognized was "older YouTuber with following"

Which is a reasonable type to court if you're trying to expand appeal

I'm just not sure they thought it through

That's not really what I took away from it. I think it's a valid take, but I think he was more commenting on "for people who have built a huge following, your business obsession has cost you fandom and I cannot reconcile that with my approach."
