In general I think it's hard to combat scientific misinformation when some of the best research is locked behind an academic paywall, while lots of nonsense gets published free for everyone to read in predatory journals.

I degree that too much student work leads to less focused students (from my own experience). But I think student work experience is important, and possibly more important than grades, in landing the first job after graduation, which might put you on another career trajectory than otherwise.
Just to say, I noticed that #AcademicBluesky has become a lot more insightful recently. I have great hopes for this place.

Wonderfull department and fantastic place to do a PhD. I can only recommend it!
Ja, det lyder ikke videre fornuftigt. Ved du om der er et højt frafald på disse uddannelser?
Was thrilled to learn that @larsvil.bsky.social has a tutorial on reproducibility! Check it out, #EconSky.

Hi #econsky!
After more than a decade working with .dta and .csv files, I FINALLY checked for alternatives 💾👴
All these datasets have the "same" content. This is mad! 🤯🤯🤯
Can anyone point me to current best-practices?
Thanks!

This is the best comic ever!
Could every seminar organiser put this up on the projector at the beginning of every seminar?

This is the greatest result for any Faroese national sports team ever. Simply incredible!
I guess the post match discussion in Noreay will not be as celebratory as here on the Faroe Island.
@RockwoolFonden
is launching a new seminar series where top researchers present their work. You can find the seminar schedule and sign up to receive information about upcoming seminars here:

Have a look at Andrei's very cool job market paper (which I was lucky enough to co-author)!

Sunday morning fun fact.
The Danish version of the Great British Bake Off is so popular that in weekends where an episode of Den Store Bagedyst is released, bakeries across the country experience a 8% higher turnover wrt the rest of the year, measured by card payments.
You are welcome! 😄
I’ve released a new version of pyfixest - it ships some performance improvements for CRV1 standard errors. I’ve also set up some benchmarks, and I was pleased to see that pyfixest looks quite competitive:
This is very cool!
Delighted by this really well-made interactive site about all different probability distributions: www.acsu.buffalo.edu/~adamcunn/pr...
DEADLINE IS TODAY TODAY TODAY.
2 YEARS. WELL PAID. NO TEACHING.
Only a few days left: we’re hiring a researcher doing applied work relating to labor, education, family, PF, health, crime,… rockwoolfonden.dk/stillingsops...
While prepping my JMP slides, I've made some pretty cool updates to my latex slides template:
- color rows/cells (with reveal options)
- bottom left beamer buttons: \bottomleft{}
- customize theme colors(!)
- full-size figures: \imageframe{}

This looks great, thank you!
Hey #EconSky! Since it's job market season, I wanted to share some A's to some job market FAQ's... using data/graphs!
(1) When will people look at your website?
Here's a plot using data from my JM website ('21-'22). Views peaked in *early November*
Thank you all! These look great.
Do you know of any additional series in general applied micro, labour econ, econ of education, IO or econometrics?
Does anyone have a good list of online or hybrid seminar series in Economics? 📈📉 #econsky
What are we? Readers of econ papers!
What do we want? Figures and tables!
Where do we want them? RIGHT WHERE THEY ARE TALKED ABOUT IN THE TEXT, GOD DAMN IT!
That would be amazing!
