I'm not disagreeing with you but I think the frames of reference have changed somewhat. The old USA has already gone, it won't return, the US still believe they can vote these people out and fix things. Each day that passes, that will be harder to achieve.

But they are the only people who can do something about it while the Whitehouse and the rest of the world burns. I'm afraid that's not very comforting for the rest of us, who will have our backs when the bombs start dropping.
