Veteran Australian tech journalist and broadcaster Gary Stark passed away on Sunday aged 73 after a long decline in his health. @leighlo.bsky.social has put together a beautiful memorial at dad.leighlo.com.

The funeral is tomorrow, Thursday, at Rockwood. Leigh or I have the details, by DM I guess.

And keep me locked in a cage
I'm not relaxed or comfortable
I'm aggravation and rage

Fun fact! There's a whole community dedicated to jailbreaking and modding kindles. You don't need to settle for this.

Supermarkets asked to pay more for produce to absorb fuel costs for farmers The effects of Australia's fuel shortage begin to compound for farmers, who have called on supermarkets to help relieve the pressure, while the government urges consumers not to panic-buy.

Farmers and growers are urging Australia's major supermarket chains to pay more for fresh produce, saying suppliers alone cannot absorb increased fuel costs without "serious consequences www.abc.net.au/news/2026-04...

Akihabara: a beginner's guide to the ultimate geek pilgrimage Tokyo's famed electronics sector isn't quite the exotic gadgets bazaar it once was, but it's a haven for lovers of manga, anime and retro gaming.

Akihabara is great but some things can be hard to find so it's worth researching beforehand - @alexkidman.bsky.social is the man to ask, my article is useful but old www.smh.com.au/technology/a...

I don’t like to think of them having their own code, but I also don’t like to think of them using the journalism code so I guess they need their own ;-)

Also, put together a timeline and cross-reference it against every medication and supplement you’ve taken. I’m discovering how many of them help with one thing while secretly making another issue worse

Pro tip: if you’re struggling to diagnose and manage chronic health issues, try keeping a food/medication/ symptoms diary + teach yourself how to analyse the data in Excel. I put it off for too long, but 6 years of solid data has allowed me to figure out more than any doctor I’ve seen.
