Last week, our executive coordinator Olivia Tort represented the CGI-Clinics project at the kick-off meeting for the @japcm.bsky.social project in Brussels. We are proud to contribute to these advances and to be part of this exciting moment!
Happy New Year! We look forward to this next year of the project in 2026 and all we have planned for the development of the CGI-Clinics tool 🧬📈

Congratulations!
This week, Loic Verlingue (CLB) & Santi Demajo (@irbbarcelona.org) represented CGI-Clinics at the EUnetCCC seminar 'Advancing Precision Oncology through Molecular Tumour Boards' - a fantastic opportunity to bring the CGI tool to the forefront of the European precision cancer diagnostics community 🌍
We are grateful to Panagiotis Baliakas for joining our consortium meeting and delivering a fantastic talk on germline investigation in hereditary haematological malignancies. He stressed the need for strong cancer–germline collaboration and ongoing follow-up of healthy carriers.
Thank you to @genomicsengland.bsky.social for engaging so actively with the project & to Alona Sosinsky & Nadezda Volkova for joining us this week for our consortium meeting. We’re grateful for their insights on bringing WGS into clinical cancer care & their experience using the CGI tool.
On the first day of our third Annual Meeting in Thessaloniki, we’ve heard updates on the usage of CGI by clinical partners, the performance of the newest version of the tool & VUS in hematological malignancies.
We’re looking forward to hearing further updates from work packages in the coming days 😊
Our clinical partner @manchester.ac.uk is hosting an event on 12-13 March 2026, bringing together researchers, clinicians, and patient advocates to share the latest advances in melanoma research and explore ways to improve patient outcomes.

Today the 700+ participants at the #EuropeanCancerSummit have the chance to learn about CGI-Clinics, thanks to @europeancancer.bsky.social showcasing EU-funded initiatives like ours. Participants, look out for our slide!
Next week the project consortium will gather in Thessaloniki for the third CGI-Clinics Annual Meeting, hosted by project partners @irbbarcelona.org and CERTH. Stay tuned for updates, and subscribe to our newsletter: dashboard.mailerlite.com/forms/247980...
Last week, @irbbarcelona.org met with the Chair of our External Advisory Board, Edwin Cuppen, to discuss the project's progress. We reflected on lessons learned from the process of clinical implementation of genomic profiling, and prepared for the next Board meeting that will happen in the new year.
