We probably shouldn't have. They will not acknowledge or remember it. Help the Gulf monarchies for cash, let yanks find their own cards.

You just have to wonder about all these cold war stockpiles. ru and US prepared for WWIII, still they both do not have enough hardware for a non-blitzkrieg regional war in the 21st century. I know that war has changed in the past 4 years, it is just incredible by how much.

Good news everyone! Petersburg will become as hospitable as Magadan and moskau will freeze. We'll just need to hold out until then.

PS: junior, because the first iteration upon an "idea" is basic AF. Like a fresh tiny webapp repo - you don't need a local env, skills, agent markdown. Just go prompt on your phone.

Facit: Either PdMs you've worked with in the past sucked, or you don't really understand what PdMs do.

Spoiler alert: by having the idea, formulating the context (I hope you are not calling "bulletproof" LLM output based on one prompt) and reviewing the results, you have for a short while been working as a Junior Product Manager 🤣 so no. They won't. They'll get more productive.

🔴 BREAKING 🔴

WASHINGTON: The Naval Commission has voted to rename the Strait of Hormuz to "Schrödinger's Strait," effective immediately.

A tanker captain, reached for comment replied: "I don't know if I'm in international waters. I don't know if I'm blocked. I just know I'm not opening this box."

Which is as "good" of news for Israel as putin has been for us. Tough times to come.

I am very far from knowing anything about anything in Iran, but listening to the experts on the region: it seems that Trump's war played for the Guard a very similar role to the Second Chechen war played for Lubyanka.

Which *technically* means that Trump's admin is right "the regime did change." 🫠🤦

Absolutely true and it was mutual 🤣 (the lots of intel + no understanding part)

Chicken Kyiv and the Budapest Memorandum are empirical evidence, that fundamental misunderstanding of the region is both bipartisan and as deep in the expert communities as it predictably is for the laymen.

You cannot be guiding or having a "controlled" anything, if you don't understand or have plans adequate to reality. In the end, it was Lubyanka who killed the Party and then through lack of political thinking lost and is still in the process of losing control over the colonies.

Nevertheless, the West was more of an "object" than subject with agency in the whole story. A lot of errors were made both by the Party and Checkists and not one person or organisation in the West planned, or even understood what has happened, or even mostly what is happening in the kremlin still.

Circling back: it is not an option because it is not the business model. We hire one new engineer when we get one new customer with recurring revenue of x1.5 salary and 3 year contract. A US company of our type would have 20x more people with a negative P&L thanks to round XYZ funding 🤷

All while burning through ridiculous funding in the belief that the winner will take it all and won't have to care. Infuriating for European businesses like ours is the fact that we wouldn't mind paying the $3k per seat for long term stability, but that is not an option.

Well tokens are tokens.. Token Factory is a real design pattern. The problem is the Yankee VC business culture that punishes sustainability.

Claude 4.6 "pro" was a paid trial and "max" should've cost around $3k per month, as should Codex. But consumers won't buy it en masse, so they try to game it.

Beta testing for Anthropic, using your own production data I might add 🫠

Lol dunno, maybe on a local setup you'll have control over what model, with what params you are using for mission critical stuff and when and how you stage an update instead of playing QA engineer, who instead of drawing a salary is paying for the privilege of conductinh beta testing.

I think the adaptive thinking requirement in the new Claude Opus 4.7 is bad in the ways that all AI effort routers are bad, but magnified by the fact that there is no manual override like in ChatGPT.

It regularly decides that non-math/code stuff is "low effort" & produces worse results.

asking claude's opus 4.7 "how many p's are there in strawperry"

it answers, "there are 2 p's in strawberry. And just to note, the correct spelling is strawberry, not strawperry!"

this is what bsky developers use to code btw

Well. Caught Opus 4.7 hallucinating twice in 6 minutes, doubling down on the hallucination, then generating a VERY LONG "sorry, should I blablabla?" for apparently something like 3x the token cost of 4.6.🫠

Can't wait to earn enough money for a local AI Factory capable rig.

Fuck them subscriptions.

It certainly was to us, that they and other Warschau Block countries actually had more than one party and more than one candidate for some positions 😁 sometimes those candidates and parties even did some oopsies. We can ask Czechoslovakia how those worked out..

I think I'll stream my next project like this on twitch and YouTube.. hey let us patch and build our own QEMU to make the buffer larger 🤣☕ this if fun stuff, if your into that sort of thing

I've said it before: It's not that the tool is shit. It is amazing! 80% of people are just using it for stuff it's not actually good for.

A new golden era for nerds like myself. Amazing!

I've been playing with GitHub build pipelines and Anthropic just shocked me with "No .Net SDK is available in this environment, but the file is trivial let me just generate it myself". This is a "someone please find and warn Sarah Connor" moment.

Seriously, no one in their right mind would rewrite drivers for MacOS Mountain Lion just to get hardware acceleration for typing in a retro text editor. Not worth it! Now? Hey, let us spin up a server with a python script to trick the OS into downloading a package with old Safari.

With proper guidance "this {the agent pulled instructions from a human tutorial} is a bad alternative, we are very close - let us debug further" I am completing setups just freaking IMPOSSIBLE half a year ago.

I don't remember the last time I've had so much fun computing!
