I don't think it's worth the effort, Kev.

Hi I wrote about the making of classic platformerChuckie Egg and talked to its creator Nigel Alderton. Please give it a read as I want to show there’s an audience for this gaming history stuff 🙏

Haha. I can only apologise for the difficulty. We were idiots.
Plok!
A quick heads up; The UK government is currently holding a consultation on the Online Safety Act. The consultation lasts until the end of next month.
Please fill it out if you live in the UK and/or share it around to get more eyes on it.

I need a lie down now.
PHEW!
This is how it gets ‘rediscovered’.
Maybe a liquidator found a forgotten box of them in the back of a warehouse or something.
My niece spotted a copy in a bookshop a couple of weeks ago. Has it had a re-release or something?
I was halfway through typing my “Cherikinkladze” post too…

I don’t know if you were there for this, but one time Rick had hired a room for us somewhere (maybe a Christmas party or something) and the signage in the venue directed us to the room for ‘Softwear Creations’.
A crumpled flyer for Akira at The Cornerhouse cinema in Manchester from March 1991.
The back of the same flyer with a load of blurb, including this ridiculous quote from Premiere magazine: “Makes Blade Runner look like an old Disney film.”
Akira is still a bit good, innit? Just watched it on the big screen and loved every second. The soundtrack is astonishing.
Only the second time I’ve seen it at the cinema since I first went to see it, based on this flyer I picked, up 35 years ago. I was so impressed I kept the flyer.
Christ
Thanks. I still pick mine up from the local newsagents, like we did in the 70’s.
Amen
AI star symbol.
It's funny (not funny) how this ubiquitous symbol screams 'beware, incoming trash!' I have an instant reaction of revulsion whenever it pops up.
I don’t know what a pull list is, but does it help you buy British comics?
The thing this is missing is that the drawing must illustrate a scene from the story. Quality unimportant, etc. Otherwise it could still be gamed.
Probably played like crap. We’ve all gotten a lot better at making games feel good to play over the years.

Yeah, I think Elden Ring, and all the Souls games, are very underrated in terms of how genuinely funny they are. They really play with difficulty and player expectations and have some proper funny - deliberately funny - moments.
Reminds me of the old gag about a game making you cry. Every gamedev has worked on a game that has made them cry…
Argh!
Wow, never seen one of these before. What a beauty.
Oh… and it’s on Switch too…
Wonderful work.
