Man I fuckin hate working on my personal day-job portfolio site… It’s so hard to muster the energy to work on that thing.

illustration of what might be some kind of fantasy funeral rite. The illustration is two colors and stylized, in the foreground is a group of robed priestess holding hands over a long sword. In the background a bandaged corpse lays on an altar among arches shelves of bottles and detritus.

Thanks so much to @portablecity.bsky.social for being a great AD, here's one of two of the illustrations I did for Swords Without Master and you guys have no idea what cool shit you're in for. People have been cranking out the most gorgeous work for that thing

A long slimy body lined with dozens of pairs of fins/feet will greet you. Reeds bristle its back. Pores on its sides excrete buckets of water so heavy with silt it looks more like clay. Smiling eyes rest on the top of the Spirit’s head. Its face is welcoming and Devonian; both fish and amphibian.

The Spirit Aphgromegir is rarely seen in its entirety due to spending the day buried in mud. When it is seen, the first thing folk notice is a row of reeds snaking their way through the ‘flats. If you are lucky, and Aphgromegir rises from the mud at low tide expect a glorious site.

Did this one on the new Maxon Autograph animation software. Still gotta figure out how to do a lot of basic stuff but seems like great free software

v2.2.1 Howdy y’all made some quick changes to the Rule Book and added an Examples of Play doc. The Rule Book had a duplicate paragraph that is removed for clarity now, and a tip pointing folks to the Praye.....

Quick afternoon update to Pilgrim's Passages. Patch notes below. Biggest addition is an Examples of Play doc that will hopefully be useful!

Happy trails!

Oh one more thing! If you like the layout, graphic, illustration, writing, or game dev work on "Pilgrim's"; and are looking to hire someone to do any of the above, please reach out. I'm in-between day-jobs, and the market is ass, so any work is appreciated.

If anyone has handled taking print orders for a limited run without a crowdfunding site holler. I'd love some advice on taking orders without taking too many. Setting up itch with limited quantities like how I handle Community Copies, then charging shipping later could work I think?

Folks seem to be wanting a print run so I will begin working on that once the dust settles on the pdf (a week or two). Want to make sure that any feedback is addressed before going to print. That and I need to tune-up the ole riso and check that I have all the ink I need...

Rectangular comic panel showing an old timey urban street at night, lit by multiple lamps. A barricade has been erected across the middle of a street, and armed folks mill around. A teenager with a basket is calling out "Got more arrows!"

A Path Within A Path, by Seabuckthorn 10 track album

Somewhat related to Pilgrim’s dropping. Since they are in my playlist for the game. Seabuckthorn dropped a new album last fall and it’s fantastic. They’ve always nailed a feeling of mystery and wanderlust.

Season-ing my game world Right now I’m running a game of The Drowned Isles, a setting / ruleset I wrote to play a bunch of OSR adventures. There are plenty of inspirations for the game, but one its earliest seeds is an attempt to write a game about where I’m from. Of course, I’m not from an archipelago infested with seafaring magical adventurers. But I’ve tried to infuse a little New Jersey into this far-future science fantasy.
