Gary Jarman (R) spars with Andy Lee. They are both wearing yellow boxing gloves.
'“I used to hang out with [Amy Winehouse] and jam sometimes, late nights at her house, doing the exact same stuff that she was doing." Within months of Winehouse’s death, Gary Jarman had enrolled at a boxing gym.'

Thank you @thelineofbestfit.com for championing Prewn, an artist you'll be hearing plenty more about before too long. Please do go and listen to last year's "System" on @eisrecords.bsky.social, it's a special record: www.thelineofbestfit.com/features/int...
14 years ago today? We were on the Weezer Cruise.
A deserved four stars for The Cribs and Album Of The Week at The Guardian: www.theguardian.com/music/2026/j...
One of my favourite records I've worked on, I think. Definitely one that I still find myself recommending to people long after the campaign has finished.
This might be from Popbitch of all places, but wouldn't it be terrific if this REM rumour was true.

Our dog has started eating house spiders. Couple of sniffs, a couple more chews, down the hatch and then that tail starts wagging.

Idlewild album today, which is a highlight of a largely terrible week. Whole family has had norovirus, which is awful stuff. And the engine has blown on my lease car, out of warranty, with six weeks of a four year contract to go. Several thousand to fix, only to then have to hand it right back.
"When he was younger, my son shouted, ‘Dad, there’s someone walking up the street with a Jesus-killed-himself machine!’ I looked out and there was someone pulling a full-size crucifix up the road. ‘Jesus-killed-himself machine’ would be a great name for a band." thequietus.com/interviews/t...

"A brutal, complex study of modern Irish life... an astonishing album."

If it at first you don't succeed, pitch, pitch again.
Slightly off centre head and shoulders of Chris Lowe (striped shirt, hat, sunglasses, truculent) and Neil Tennant (suit, tie, arched eyebrow). Below them the album title: Pet Shop Boys Discography and subtitle The Complete Singles Collection.
Tonight a strong case for this as the perfect album:
Oh that will not be a problem
Can't say enough good things about this band. Like early Nirvana meets Sabbath, maybe Melvins, the tone and heaviness of this is supreme: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VB01...
