I wouldn’t know, I come up with the structure of a story and then never write them down! Sticking to non fiction bc yes those nuts and bolts are very difficult

I find if it doesn’t “feel” right it doesn’t stick. I usually get a powerful vision of something happening like it’s fact - but picking details can also feel just as true.
