Palestinian children in the West Bank were prevented from going to school by Israeli security forces who closed a road in the middle of the night and set up razor wire.

The children tried to cross through the razor wire and were reportedly tear-gassed.

Jerusalem Post: Despite a “ceasefire” the IDF is giving orders to open fire on everyone in Southern Lebanon trying to go home — “Even if the person is unarmed… based on the idea that there are no civilians left in Southern Lebanon.”

Why don't Democrats organize and vote on a war powers resolution for Cuba? You know, try to constrain Trump's wars before they actually start.

What's new for me is the real possibility that my ancestors were enslaved on Winthorpe's plantation. (Also, Isaac Royall, Jr.'s plantation was not that far away.)

Why are Harvard’s slavery researchers quitting or being fired? The school’s $100m project to examine its slave ownership in Antigua is mired with controversy as academics allege obstruction

The real story, of course, is that Harvard wants credit for working to uncover its ties to slavery, but doesn't want any ties uncovered to be too extensive - lest at some point it finds itself unable to avoid reparations. But I already knew that. /2

Harvard's ties to slavery in Antigua are even more extensive than I thought, and I'm Antiguan. In fact, my mother's family is from New Winthorpes (& nearby Barnes Hill), having been forced to move from Winthropes in 1942. Mary Geo Quinn, the 'Winthorpean' poet quoted in the piece, was my cousin. 1/

It's really astonishing that, with all the discussion of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz for the past week and a half, so precious little was said in Western media about the fact that the Strait would have been open but for Israel's refusal to cease firing in Lebanon.

Trump doesn't understand that a state might want to enrich uranium for reasons other than wanting nukes, so the fact that Iran still wants to enrich uranium ipso facto proves, in his mind, that it wants nukes.

Trump is not just morally unfit for office, but intellectually unfit for office.

This is hard to believe. Saudi Arabia must know by now that regime change will not be forthcoming. On the other hand, it must see the existential threat that escalation poses to its oil industry.

GUARDIAN: “Israel has carried out its largest attack on Lebanon since its war with Hezbollah began, killing at least 254 and wounding 837, an assault that prompted Iranian officials to warn Tehran could withdraw from the ceasefire…” www.theguardian.com/world/2026/a...

At least 10 Israeli airstrikes hit multiple areas simultaneously in Dahye and in the Lebanese capital Beirut, with additional strikes reported across southern and eastern Lebanon, including Saida, the Bekaa Valley, and other parts of the south.

The Pakistani intermediaries have made clear that Lebanon is included. Israel's blatant violation of the ceasefire does not, by itself, create any unclarity.

Absurd post.

He is insane.

And this is an open declaration of intended genocide.

If any other world leader said this, there would be sanctions and an arrest warrant, not just for him, but for his whole regime.

Are Democrats alarmed yet? When are they going to act with an urgency commensurate with the situation we are now in?

Yes, and this diversity is under threat, if Trump has his way:

Israel - with its apparently unlimited capacity for cruelty - still bombs civilians in Gaza just about every day.

Why, you may ask, would Israel agree to this?

I say because it's about to be pummelled in the weeks and months to come.

"As [DS] has previously reported, Iran’s terms for permanently ending the war include a long-term guarantee that the U.S. and Israel will not attack Iran again and that any ceasefire also apply to Lebanon, Iraq and Palestine..."

This is the only way Israel's war on Gaza and Lebanon will be stopped.

This is what happens when 77 million people take leave of their senses and put a manifestly unqualified, unfit, mentally ill narcissistic man-child in charge of the country and the world's most powerful. military. This is what happens when the media 'bothsides' election coverage.

The biggest story in the world right now is that the president of the United States is a demented old man who takes pleasure in torturing and killing people and is committing crimes with impunity. And yet most legacy media outlets are too cowardly to tell it like it is.

US:

1 month ago: "90% of Iranian missile launchers are destroyed!"

2 weeks ago: 70% of Iranian missile launchers are destroyed!"

Today: "Half Iranian missile launchers destroyed!"

At this rate the US is building Iranian missile launchers for Iran within two weeks.

So, as I suspected, it is Israel who is pushing attack Iran's energy facilities. Now Iran has indicated that if they are attacked, it will attack the same of the Gulf countries. So Israel wants to do what will result in the destruction of the GCC facilities. Yet all the GCC ire is directed at Iran.

As I've said before, Trump's strong anti-immigration sentiments are a direct outgrowth of his ideas about race, in particular, his idea that inequality between states is a reflection of racial inequality -- i.e. the inequality in the distribution of natural talents between the races.

"...and despite devastating losses to its arsenal, it retains some ability to strike Israel with missiles."

When will journalists understand that the vast majority of Iran's arsenal was and is deep underground. Not the remnants of it, but almost the whole thing. You are spreading misinformation.

It doesn't speak well of the reporters of this story that they don't seem to know that Iran has entire missile production facilities in some of the underground facilities that they mention.

It really takes some chutzpah for Trump to now demand that Europe join his war against Iran, when Europe (in particular, France, Britain and Germany) went to extraordinary lengths in 2017-18 to persuade him not to withdraw the US from the JCPOA.
