Yes, Orville seems most similar to TNG. If you plan on watching TNG, be aware that the first two seasons are very different from the rest of the show.

It is certainly a fun show with lots of heart (gets better as it goes). I think it very much tries to fit the 90s Star Trek format, which is a personal favorite for me.
I now have a building progress icon that shows how close you are to building a new structure. I will add more visual cues to show construction in progress, though 🛠️.

I think there are at least three things at work here:
1. The novelty wears off
2. You enter the “main phase” of the project where progress is slower and incremental
3. Elements of your code/game start presenting unexpected, emergent complexities
These may all hit around the same time…
Adorable.
Thanks! 😄
I'm super excited to show you the ⭐new⭐ 2d #sprite for my player controllable unit in #arborlands!
You're looking at 8 frames in 5 directions. 3 of the directions are simply mirrored to make for a full-8.

Nice pixel art! 🍃
That’s a great idea! You are making your chores into a quest map!
Does its power make people hallucinate?
Yeah, I think there's more flare than solar! 😁
Exploration is a big part of Arborlands. The game's world is made up of map tiles that you have to uncover. When you first start out, only your immediate surroundings are visible.
I thought they were giant cherry blossom trees at first! 😄
So cool! I especially like the snowy map ❄️
Waiting intensifies!
Spot the critter!

So cool! This has a real clay animation vibe to it!
Let’s see it! 😆
Awww, weirdly adorable! 🥺🤔
Ooh, Key! Let me scoop that up! 🗝️
That's hello four times to you, Yuronk!
A picture of a game's user interface. Below the word "amenities" there are four buttons that all have the word "hello" above them.
Welp... at least the amenities are friendly...
(Just placeholder buttons for actual future amenities)
Prepping the arborin #animation to be added as an animated #sprite in the game.

The dark outlines really make the objects pop, nice effect!
Thanks! I appreciate that! 😄
Yes! 🌱
So, there was this forest once... 🌳🌳🌳

Back to #animation! Starting with a wireframe that covers the range of motion. I'm doing some fine-tuning to make sure it looks right. 👀

Two animals in a forest. They are at the base of a tree, looking up into the canopy.
Developer's Sketchbook: I love the idea of animals exploring the world around them. Maybe for food, maybe for shelter, maybe sometimes for pure curiosity... ✨
