p.s. Norway also has cheap electricity with 100 per cent renewables (hydro electric) for ever. EV ownership was encouraged by letting electric cars drive in the bus lanes, free parking for EVs etc etc All you need is to dump Trump and elect some Norwegians, that would be my advice
I think in Europe last month, for the first time, electric cars outsold petrol and diesel. If you want to gape in awe have a look at electric car ownership in norway. it is about 95 per cent...but apparently electric cars don't work in cold weather....
solar panels work on direct current DC..as do car batteries. But I can't convince him to buy an electric car - even though he has seen me happily driving one for years....and I don't have solar to produce free fuel...cost me at least 10 euro to 'fill'my battery overnight.
people are hard to convince. i have a friend who is a sheep farmer and he has solar panels on one of his barn roofs. He produces more than the farm needs, in summer, and sells it to the electricity company.
and, these days, with all that outbuilding roof space farmers can make their own electricity with a few solar panels - even in grey and rain sodden Ireland...
The first electric farm appliance was built in the 1890s, around the time the first electric cars were invented, I read sopmewhere, sometime. In the last couple of decades they have been reinvented..I think John Deere have a various sizes....
Every time they mention the new ayatollah this cartoon from "The Far Side" just springs into my head..what a world...
