The harm caused by an inept, ineffective and puppet EHRC is not restricted to its more obvious campaign against trans people.
The silence about cuts to SEND from the puppet EHRC (whose ministerial controller, Bridget Phillipson is, conveniently, also education secretary) is deafening. This is why we need an independent EHRC.

The puppet @equalityhumanright.bsky.social’s so-called “constructive” change in its transphobic “guidance” appears has come after a private meeting with an anti-trans campaign group.
Yet there is no evidence of the puppet EHRC meeting, or even listening to any trans groups.
Or indeed the "challenging governments" (except to release the draft code). But not on freedom of speech (PA), asylum, privacy (state surveillance), upholding religious rights (islam).....
At least in that I think people from Gorton probably won't like him on a personal level.

They do NOT operate independently.
They do NOT protect and promote the human rights of EVERYONE.
They do NOT challenge governments.
We deserve better. @i-ehrc.bsky.social is an alternative.
I have seen no evidence to support this “independent” claim.
In particular it has NEVER had a a trans commissioner despite spending a disproportionate amount of time trying to remove trans people’s human rights and having multiple anti-trans members.
This is why we need the iEHRC.
