S., a survivor of the deadly #Chios #shipwreck #Greece, was discharged from the ICU today after two months of hospitalisation. She was transferred to the surgical ward to applause as initial forecasts about her condition had suggested that she was unlikely to make it.

Ένα μεγάλο ευχαριστώ σε όλο το ιατρικό και νοσηλευτικό προσωπικό του νοσοκομείου, που έκανε τα πάντα για να την στηρίξει.

Μια μεγάλη αγκαλιά στην οικογένειά της, που παρά τις τραγικές απώλειες από το ναυάγιο, δεν έπαψε στιγμή να πιστεύει ότι θα τα καταφέρει, και την πλημμύριζε με αγάπη και δύναμη.

Η Σ., επιζώσα του πολύνεκρου #ναυαγίου της #Χίου, βγήκε σήμερα από τη Μονάδα Εντατικής Θεραπείας μετά από 2 μήνες νοσηλείας! Μεταφέρθηκε στη χειρουργική κλινική εν μέσω χειροκροτημάτων, καθώς οι αρχικές προβλέψεις για την κατάστασή της ήταν ότι δύσκολα θα τα κατάφερνε.

According to survivors' testimonies, when the boat reached the Lesvos coast, a Coast Guard vessel approached them. Survivors believed they had been rescued. Instead, officers with covered faces shouted GO BACK TURKEY, while the vessel circled the boat creating waves that caused it to capsize.

On 5 March 2026, H.M., a young Afghan father and survivor, was acquitted of all charges against him, including the unauthorised transportation of third-country nationals and causing the shipwreck and the deaths.
