Key time to NOT be outside in the Bay Area this weekend: Saturday mid/late afternoon.
A potent cold front is forecast to sweep through with widespread rainfall rates of a half-inch per hour. Erratic wind gusts >40 mph possible, and even a chance of coastal waterspouts and tornadoes. #CAwx

Map of U.S., from coolwx.com, showing locations currently experiencing record-breaking temperatures. There are countless such locations in the Western U.S., with hundreds of red dots (locations breaking daily record highs) and dozens of pink dots (locations breaking March monthly record highs). The region of record heat extends from the Pacific Coast to the Great Plains, and from Canada to Mexico.
Fair to say that the Western U.S. heatwave has reached record-shattering status, with dozens of locations breaking all-time March monthly heat records & some now approaching *April* records. Swath of record heat extends clear from Pacific to Great Plains, & from Canada to Mexico.

Well, the ridiculous mid-March heat has officially arrived in the Western U.S., with quite a few locations in California already reaching/breaking all-time monthly records today. Believe it or not, the heat will further intensify and become even more widespread later this week.

I’m watching friends succumb to doom watching what’s happening in Minnesota and I want to shake them and scream “Can’t you see the people organizing? Can’t you see them winning?”. Doom is a warm blanket of helplessness that keeps you from the fight.
X/Twitter post from Spencer Pratt says: I’ve been in the public eye most of my life and there isn’t any dirt you can find on me that hasn’t already been aired. Seems like the only thing people don’t know is my voter registration, so here go: I registered Republican in 2020 and never changed it. And I wasn’t going to change it now just to check a different box. This is a non-partisan race - there will be no D or R next to my name. As Mayor, I will not serve either party. I will work with anyone who wants to help the City. No labels necessary.

San Francisco power outage today
Man it’s cold out here. 43 degrees with 20 mph wind puts the wind chill near freezing. That’s rare in San Francisco. And the fog is blowing in from the N-NE. Weird to see radiation fog move around like this. #CAwx
Family Zoning passes the first reading 7-4 at the Board of Supervisors. I've legit been working on this for 3 years. LET'S FUCKING GO.
If you showed up at a hearing, sent a letter, told your friends, or organized to make this happen, THANK YOU
